These are the amazing things I learned from Bro. Eli Soriano's teaching on the above-mentioned topic in addition to my own personal research as well.

Jesus was modest while on earth and He made it clear He came to do the will of the Father. He came to reconcile us to the Father and there was never a place where He took the attention for Himself. Everything He said and did was to Glorify God.

When He healed Lazarus, He said "Thank you, Father, because you hear Me. Thank You because you always hear Me" and He used to always say that the Father might be Glorified. As shared by Bro. Eli Soriano, let's consider this Bible passage:

John 4:23-24 (NIV)

Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.

God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and truth.”

Here is one of the many teachings of Jesus, so to the person who asked such, "Is it appropriate that we worship and honour only Jesus without giving any honour to the Father?"

It's not hard to give honour to both the Father and the Son. If we can give honour to Jesus, how much more the Father. We don't have access to the Father except through Jesus and that is why we need to acknowledge Jesus as our Lord and give honour to Him for the sacrifice of reconciliation.

1 Peter 3:15 (NIV)

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

How do you worship the Son and not the Father, when all the Son ever did while on earth was to point to the Father? The Father would love us to reference Jesus and that's why He is seated at the right hand of God. Imagine even in the traditional settings here, how do you acknowledge a king without also recognizing the chiefs?

The Bible perfectly tells us that God wants us to give honour and reference to Jesus. God wants us to love on Jesus just as we love on Him. He told the angels to worship Jesus as well and we can find that in the Bible. Let's consider:

Hebrews 1:6 (NIV)

And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all God’s angels worship him.”

Jesus is worthy of our worship and we shouldn't exclude the Father in our act of Worship either which was why I cited the instance of a king and his chief even though that didn't explain the situation here but for us to know that as much as we acknowledge Jesus, we should also acknowledge and worship the Father. We pray to God in Jesus name as our access, so we can worship the Father in the same vein. When you worship the Son, you worship the Father, so when you worship the Father, you should also acknowledge the Son who has reconciled us to the Father.

John 14:1 (NIV)

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.

1 John 2:22 (NIV)

Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son.

We cannot deny the Father and the Son, so when we give reference and love to the Son, we do the same for the Father. These Two cannot be separated. The Bible carefully explain this in 1 Corinthians 11:3 (NIV) and it reads: "But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God." So, if your worship is good enough for Jesus, then it is good enough for God. If Jesus' teachings and instructions are important, then God is equally important. The Father and the Son cannot be separated and we can love on both without any issue.

John 14:28 (NIV)

“You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.
