Everton fought so hard for this win against Leeds United. Leeds United didn't roll over and gave a good fight especially on their turf at Ellan Road.

Everton got their 7th away win of the campaign and the 4th away win in a row. It is the first time ever for them to achieve this feat and that's a credit to the amazing job that Ancelotti is doing at Everton. In the same breath, we cannot take away the good job coach Bielsa is also doing considering this is the first season for Leeds in the Premier League. They have taken the league by storm.

Everton hoped to get a better result after the set back at home when they played against Newcastle United and lost. They started the game in bright light and got the lead early on in the 9th minute when a brilliant pass from Andre Gomes to pick out Digne. Digne wasted no time but to flash the ball across goal and it came perfectly for Gylfi Sigurdsson who had to tap it in. It was a cool finish from the Icelander and it went in between the legs of the goalkeeper. 1-0.

Everton showed character and they were quick to win the ball anytime they lose it. That really helped them and almost led to a second goal when Calvert Lewin hit a low drive shot but it was comfortably dealt with.

Bamford could have drawn his side level but his final touch let him down but Leeds United got a corner at least. The corner kick was taken and the ball fell graciously to Alioski and his powerful low half volley shot struck the frame of the post on the left-hand side. That was a relief for Everton but pain for Leeds for being denied by the post.

Leeds wasn't done as Struijk had a decent glancing header after a brilliant freekick on the side located him. The goalkeeper was alert and pushed for a corner kick.

Everton sensed danger and quickly rallied round to score the second goal of the night in the 41st minute. A brilliant corner kick was delivered into the box by Gylfi Sigurdson and it got into the path of Godfrey who had a flick and Calvert Lewin pounced. It was a pure striker's instinct and he registered his 16th goal of the current campaign in total while 12 of those came in the Premier League.

The half time ended 2-0 and Everton was on a cruise. The second half started and Leeds came out fighting. They got the reward their effort deserve when in the 48th minute, Everton struggled to clear the ball in the box. The ball fell to Bamford who got a touch and knocked it to the path of Raphinha. Raphinha had a good placed shot and buried his effort into the back of the net. 2-1 and game on. It was the start Leeds United dreamed of while waiting to enter for the second half.

Leeds United could have snatched a draw if not for the heroics of Olsen. The Swedish international was at his best as he brilliantly kept Leeds attack at bay. He brilliantly saved 3 times in quick succession much to the frustration of Leeds United. Raphinha and Harrison got so close but were both denied.

Bamford hope of getting a draw faded when he headed over amidst the half-chance he got. Roberts also hit a half volley but blazed over. It was a hard-fought victory for Everton and they moved to 6th on the table after this game. What a lovely season they are having.
