Labor market duality

Currently, the labor market has been more extended by the digital age, which, it can be inferred that there is more employment than is believed, but the truth is, it is not exactly like that.

Young adults are not considered

There may be more jobs than there are in the presence since in these times the remote work modality has been taken, but the number of people who prepare for it usually does not remain for those jobs. These people have their age in common, most of them are young people leaving university or in the middle of it, which is not bad, but unfortunately, they are not taken into account even for internships in many companies.

Rarely is a young man or woman who has graduated from university considered if they have a contact within the company.

We see interviews but we don't know about work

Despite being in full digitalization, many recruiters (in this case, in Venezuela), do not change the way of recruiting personnel, the archaic way of taking a face-to-face interview is only based on exams, questionnaires, or more or less complex questions of this happens to another type of selection but questionable since the selected one still does not even know what the work will be about, nor does he know how much he will be paid, how he will work, and in this many questions arise highlighting the lack of transparency in some talent recruiters in the country's companies.

The duality of the interviewee

Now let's see how much a professional prepares to opt for the job, in this case, we have the jobs of Programmer or Community Manager, in which you can prepare from home and with courses that you can normally find on YouTube. Something that I do not criticize because being self-taught is how you can improve in any professional field, now, some people who only see a part of these courses, information, or ways of working in these trades, already once and for all call themselves capable of doing such work, the duality here is that it may or may not be true.

Large companies, always take into account the person's experience, generally, they always look at the years and what they can work on, a professional with more than 5 years of experience, with more than 10 certifications, has more job opportunities than another who It has only traveled 2 and has only just begun to have certifications.

This also has another duality, since if the first person does not have a contact in the company like the second one does, the opportunities that the first professional had to go down and the other takes the position, because they are known or even family of a worker of the organization.

Something that every company in the world has, more than anything to take the security of its processes.

The Venezuelan labor market has been impacted by digitization but it has not necessarily had a greater impact on the well-being of the worker or the job market.

I take advantage of this block to clarify that this is my opinion based on what I have experienced in my country Venezuela. I have taken about 20 job interviews in the country, with no success.

I am currently successful remotely and with my social networks based on this experience.

Thanks for reading.
