Mama Spider on Guard! Hello my dear readers! How are you all? I wasn't able to post contents in the recent days because I have a lot of work at the farm. But now I'm back! It's raining all day here in our province, so I didn't go out today. I just stayed at home. Now I want to share some shots I got a few days ago. These are pictures of a spiky spider guarding it's egg that is on a grass leaf. I saw this spider while I was insect hunting on a grassy area near our yard. Good thing it didn't run away when it saw me. It was really protecting the eggs. And didn't want to abandone them. Maybe in a few more days its egg will hatch. Thank you for stopping by!

Green Caterpillars! Hello my dear readers! There is a plant beside my uncle's house where I always see caterpillars there. Especially when it has a lot green leaves. Because the caterpillars like to eat its leaves. They are easy to see because sometimes they are just on top of the plant. But the others hide under the branches of the plant. Sometimes there are too many of them eating leaves. And almost eat all of the leaves of the plant. They will only disappear when they reach the next stage of their life cycle. And someday they will become butterflies. Thank you for your time!

Jumping Spider! Hello readers! A blessed Sunday to all! I was sitting outside the house looking in the yard when I saw this jumping spider hopping on the leaves of the Calachuchi plant. Maybe it's looking for food because it's going around checking all the corners and parts of the plant. I had a hard time taking a picture of it because it was so moving. It jumps around everywhere. It also hides when I approach him with my camera. But even so, I still have a good shot of him. Thank you for stopping by!

Green Bug! Hello readers! I just want to share to you guys some pictures of an insect that I have encountered. This is an insect that has green color all around its body. It was very hard to notice because of its color. It matches the leaves perfectly. I only noticed it when it tried to run and hide from me. Because I was trying to find a spider that fall off from one of the leaves where this guy is hanging out. I lost the spider but I found this insect. I hope someone knows what this insect is called because I don't know it. Thank you for stopping by!

Orange Ficos nota Hello my dear readers! Have you seen or heard about the Ficos nota fruit? Ficos nota or Tibig in tagalog is a native plant here in the Philippines. But there is also this plant in other asian countries. Because I watched something on the discovery channel that showed this plant. The fruit of this plant is edible when ripe and can be eaten raw. Usually Tibig fruits are green in color. But the one I saw at the nature park have orange fruits. Tibig trees grow in the areas where there is presence of water. I've tried eating green Tibig fruit before and it taste sweet. It has tiny seeds inside and has a spongy texture. It's my first time to see orange tibig fruits and they also look tasty. Thank you for stopping by!

Black birds! Hello my dear readers! I just want to share something to you. I saw these birds perched on a Moringa oleifera tree one morning when I went jogging at the sports complex. I don't usually see them everytime I go there and I don't know what bird they are. They have pure black color and red eyes. They are not crows because they are smaller in size. Some people say that they are a sign of bad luck because of their black color. But for me that black feathers and red eyes looks amazing on these birds. Thank you for your time!

Sunset Lover! Sunset is one my favorite part of the day because you get to see these kind of view. Views like these reminds us to be thankful. No matter how bad or stressful our day went. It also shows that you are blessed to have lived another day. And it tells us that we need to have a break for a moment. Just like the sun. It goes down everyday. But will rise again everyday. I hope we'll do it too. Rest.Rise and keep fighting in life. Thank you for stopping by!

@nyOkiZz

A Giant Horsefly Hello my dear readers! How are you today? I just want to share my macro shots of a horsefly that I saw on a corn at the farm. I was just looking around at our corn plants at the farm when I saw this horsefly. I easily noticed it on the corn leaf because it was quite big. I approached it slowly so that it would not leave and so that I could also take a picture of it. Its eyes are so amazing. They're like goggles. I often see horsefly at the farm. But they are elusive that's why I can't get pictures of them. Good thing, this one is nice because it didn't flew away. I have also experienced being bite by a horsefly and it hurts. It's like a mosquito. So maybe that is why I usually see them clinging to animals like cow or carabao. Because they suck the blood of animals. It's a nice looking insect. Thank you for stopping by!

Celebrating Valentine Birthday with Friends! I couldn't make and post an article yesterday because I went somewhere and it was too late at night when I got home. It was Valentine's day yesterday, but I didn't go on a date. Because I don't have a girlfriend. But I attended a special day in the life of one of my close friends since we were just in highschool. Because yesterday was her birthday. I also had many other friends who went with me.To commemorate our friend's birthday. And also to make her happy on her birthday. It’s really fun when you become part of a special day in the life of a friend or loved ones in life. It was also great because I celebrated Valentine’s and birthday with my friends together. Not like others who have held valentine's with their bf or gf. I am very happy to be with my friends. Because even in the little time we spend together we have a lot of laughter and stories we share to each other. It feels so good to be with friends who are ones of the important people in my life that I considered a family as well. It was a day well spent. And now we go back to each other's normal lives. Hopefully we will be together in the next events in each other's lives. For my friends, "always be careful and I love you guys!" Thank you for your time! How about you my dear readers? How did you spent the Valentine's day?

Mushrooms on our yard! I was going to herd my goat this morning on the vacant lot at the back of the house when I noticed these mushrooms. Only this time again, I saw mushrooms like this in our yard. Probably because of the rain yesterday. When I was a child there were so many mushrooms like these growing in our yard. Especially in termite houses and under the banana trees. We take it then and make it a dish. It's very delicious when it is mixed with vegetables. We also make sure that we only get the ones that can be eaten. And we have a sign of the poisonous mushroom. It's when it has a ring on its stem. And these doesn't have rings on them so they are edible. I didn't take the mushrooms I saw because they were too small and too few. Thank you for stopping by!

It's the Season of Love! The days go by really fast. And now we are again close to the middle of the second month of the year. Where the day of love is commemorated. It's coming because it's just a day before Valentine's day. For those with a relationship, this day is special for them. For it is the time when they will give gifts to each other. So flowers and chocolates are in vogue again. For singles, like me. We can still celebrate with family members or friends. Or not so, entertain ourselves with things that will make us happy. Let's just be happy first, for the people who have already found their love. And also for ourselves. Perhaps this is not yet the right time for us to find or recognize the love that is for us. We don't have to deal with it. Because we all have our own time. Let lord take care of when we will meet or find the person destined for us. Just trust the process. And if nothing is meant for you. Perhaps Lord will bless you with something else. There is family and friends that can give you love. And you can also provide your love for them. For now, just enjoy your moment. Pray that whatever trials or challenges may come, still choose to trust and have faith in God. What's important, is that you are happy and contented with everything you have right now. Thank for your time! And advance Happy Valentines to all!

Wild Sunflowers Hello my dear readers! One of the plants we have here in the backyard is wild sunflower or mirasol in Filipino. I don't know where it came from as long as it suddenly grew and multiplied. Because I think these wild sunflowers can only be seen forest or mountains. So I get to see it every day and it really has so many flowers. It doesn't seem to be running out of flowers. Sometimes its flowers lasts for two to three days. But our plant is not like other sunflowers that have larger flowers and larger seeds that can be picked and eaten. This sunflower is small in size and the middle part of it where the seeds can be seen is very small and almost no seeds can be seen. But even if our plant is just like this, it is still beautiful to look at. It still adds beauty to the surroundings. Thank you for your time!

Leaf eater! I went to the farm to get some squash flowers and squash fruit to be cooked for dinner. As I walk along the squash field, squash beetle are flying away. There a lot them on the squash leaves. Squash beetles are considered insect pest to farmers because they feed on the leaves of the squash. Too many squash beetles is bad for the crop. Because they will destroy it. Sometimes we use pesticide to lessen their number. But we only use chemicals if badly needed. So that we don't harm those good insect or predators of this pest. Thank you for your time!

A Useful Leaves Nature Photography #4 - nyOkiZz Hello my dear readers! How are you? For my nature photography, I want to share a type of plant found on tree branches in the forest. But it is also often seen on the branches of acacia trees. Like this acacia tree on the side of the road to a nature park here in our province. Where the branches of this tree are many wrapped by this plants. In our language we call it Kapa-kapa. Its leaves, especially those that have withered, can be used as costumes for pageants and beauty contests. I remember when we make a costume out of it when my classmate in college join a pageant at our school. Which she won in best costume. We also used kapa-kapa leaves as classroom decoration because we also participated in a classroom contest at our school. There are many more uses for kapa-kapa leaves. It just needs to be discovered. Because this plant is not much noticed by people. Thank you for reading!

Love is everywhere! Hello my dear readers! I hope you are all in good condition. I just want to share a moment that I witnessed while I just sitting outside the house drinking my morning coffee. It's not just people who know how to love. but also the animals. Just like these doves I saw as they fluttered on the roof. They are really fun to watch. Because even though they are called animals they also know how to show their love to each other. May their romance be beautiful. Spread love and peace! Thank you for stopping by!

Killer Spider of the Natureverse Hello readers! I'm here to share again some pictures that I captured from our nature. If the human world has spidermans, nature has also got many badass spiders. Just like this one. I saw this green spider while it is dragging its kill on a grass leaf. I think it caught a bee or maybe a fly. But whatever that is, its a bad day for him. I don't know how did it catched that insect. But one thing's for sure that this spider is an expert in hunting them. Because bees or flies are very hard to catch insects. I think this spider is trying to hide by blending on these little grass fruit around it. Maybe from other predators that might steal its catch. It's really hard to notice if you don't take a closer look. What a smart killer. Thank you for your time!

Macro shots in Monochrome Hello noisers! A blessed Sunday to all! It's been here in our province since morning. But sometimes the rain will also stop for a moment from time to time. That's why I got some time to went outside for a bit. Just to check the livestock we have here at the back of our. And I also get a chance to take some pictures of the surroundings. Now I want to share to you some pictures that I captured. These are macro shots of water droplets that is accumulated on the grass leaves. And I also put the photos in monochrome theme. Black and White or Monochrome is one of my favorite theme in my photography. Because it makes you see the world in a different perspective. It's like you are making a painting of the things, people and moments that you see around you. Thank you for stopping by!

Nature Photography #3 - nyOkiZz For the continuation of may nature photography I want to share some pictures of an animal I usually see when I was a kid. And this is the Click Beetle. When I was a kid, I used to play with this beetle by putting it on its back and it'll try to turn back by clicking its neck. During my childhood days there were still many click beetle around. You can see them under the trees and they even come in to the house during night time. But now, they are very rare to be seen. It's sad that their numbers have decrease so fast. And I don't think that children now a days may have seen one of these creatures. Maybe I'm just lucky to see one again. Thank you for your time!

@nyOkiZz

Something Wild I just want to share a wild plant that grows on the rice field. The fruits was like watermelons but the sizes of it are so small. It's my first time to see this wild plant on the farm because usually only grasses are seen on our field. So it's very unusual for me to see this kind of wild plant growing there. And there's a lot of it especially on the rice paddies that is not yet plowed. I also tried to open them to see what on the inside. There's a lot of seeds inside the fruit. And I also tried to taste it. The yellow fruit or the ripe ones has a very soury taste while the green one is so bitter that it will make you throw up. So I think they cannot be eaten.

Fireball going down! The sun is the most important light source in this world. And it is also the source of energy for every living things. So let me share some pictures of the sun before it goes down over the mountains. The sun maybe gone for a while. But it will surely rise again tomorrow to provide us with the light that we need. Thank you for your time!

Sunbird's Favorite! Every morning, sunbirds often come to our backyard to check and to feed on plant flowers that we have here near our house. You will know they are here near the house when you hear their cute loud chirp. But sometimes I see them arrive here because i'm already outside drinking my morning coffee. That's why I got the opportunity to take pictures of them. It's really nice to see them around. Maybe the nectar of these flowers is one of their favorite food. So when this plant doesn't have blooming flowers, the sunbirds will also have no food. They will have to search for another source. I always wanted to get a shot of them while they are hovering in the air when sucking out the nectar of the flower. But it's a very difficult shot because the sunbirds only hovers for a moment and they're also very fast. Maybe nextime I hope I could get that shot. Thank you for your time!

Nature's Silhouette You can do a lot in photography. You can get pictures of colorful things around you. But you can also get silhouette pictures of things. Just like these photos that I am going to share to you. Silhouette only shows the shape of objects, people or scene represented as a solid shape. And it is usually presented through a light background. So it's like taking a picture of the darkside of an object. Because silhouette is represented usually by black color.

A Nice Way to Start a Day Hello readers! A blessed Sunday to all! How do you start your day? Let me share a quote from Anthony T. Hincks. “*The secret to a good morning is to watch the sunrise with an open heart.*” Do you agree to that? For me? Yes, of course. Because I believe that sunrise is one the most special times of a day. The sunrise mark a new beginning of a new day of our life. So lets take little time to see it. For us to have a good start of the day with a positive view and good attitude. So that we can surpass all the challenges we will be facing throughout the day. People do not have the same mornings. Others woke up early to go to work. While others still asleep as long as they want. But we can all agree that sunrise is really beautiful time when we all get to catch and see it. That's why for whatever reasons, we should still give ourselves some time to see the beauty of every morning of our life. Just take a simple glimpse of it and appreciate that its shines for you/us no matter what, even on a cloudy day. And for that I want to share some pictures of fun moments while I was watching a beautiful sunrise. These photos were taken on top of a hill when we went jogging and hill climbing to the mountain part of our town on a early morning. I was so glad to witness such a spectacular moment. It relieves your stressed and worries in life for a moment. All you can feel is pure happiness and that you are blessed to live again another day. So don't let yourself won't see a sunrise in your life. Thank you for reading! Happy weekend!

An owl is watching us! Hello readers! I just want to share some pictures of a bird that we did not expect to see here at our backyard. We were cutting some bamboo trees for the duck coops we were making. We were looking for the matured bamboo tree to cut down. Then my nephew saw something that move on the bamboo branch. Then he shouted, "look there's an owl". I didn't see it right away! Because it's a bit hard to notice where it is. Maybe my eyesight is failing. Haha! But I also saw when my nephew pointed at it correctly. Then we wondered why there is an owl there. Because there is not so many trees, but a lot houses. Maybe this is where it got caught by daylight. Because owls usually travels at night. And it was the first time that we saw an owl during daytime. So I immediately get my camera and took some pictures of it. It was hard to get clear shot of it because of the bamboo branches blocking the view. And I think that the owl is also camera shy coz it was trying to hide from me. After getting some photos of it. We continue to cut the bamboo trees that we need. But we make sure that we don't harm the owl and just let it rest there. So that it get some strength to fly home through the night. It's a nice experience to see a an animal that's very rare to be seen. I hope we'll see it again!

Late Afternoon skyline Hello my dear readers! Today was a nice because it didn't rain. Unlike yesterday that it rained almost the whole day. Also the weather today wasn't so hot. It's a nice condition to work on the farm. So I went to the farm this morning until afternoon to check our crops and also to clean the field. It was already late afternoon when I finished my works. While I resting for a while before going home. I saw this nice view of the sky. What an amazing view and you will feel relaxed while looking at it. It shows that no matter how tired you were or how bad your day was, it will still end in a beautiful way. And you have passed another challenge in your life. So be thankful that you had live another day. Thank you for stopping by!😁

Charcoal challenge Hello my dear readers of the read.cash! I want to share one of the games my nephews play to have some fun. I went to the farm at my uncle's house because I got bored at the house. I arrived there and came across my nephews while they were playing Uno cards. I wondered why their faces was so black and dirty. Turns out that they were playing Uno cards with a consequence. Whoever loses in every round will get a charcoal mark on his face. And the players who won will put the charcoal. That's sounds fun! Haha! So you have to do a great strategy to win at every round and to avoid the consequence. They all experience to lose and got a charcoal mark on the face. They even covered their whole faces with charcoal after they play. (Just for fun) Then they asked me to take pictures of them before they clean themselves. For them to see what they look like. Haha! And here are the pictures I got. For me, they looked like a charcoal with a face. Haha! They were so happy with their looks even though they have dirty faces. They really enjoyed the charcoal challenge. Thank you for stopping by!

Nature Photography #2 - by nyOkiZz Hello readers! Here are some photos for my nature photography. Birding is one of the things I do in my photography life. So I got to see a lot of birds and get some photos them. And here is one of the birds that I photographed. It is a crow. Crow is one of the birds that can be seen here in our province. They are big black birds that just flies around everywhere. They can be seen in forest, fields or even at your backyard where there are tall trees they can perched on. Sometimes I see one here at our backyard on top of coconut trees. You will know when they're around if you heard their raucous voice. Crows eat fruit and seed. But they also eat small birds or eggs. One time I saw a crow tried to snatch a chick at the back of house because we are raising some chickens here. But it didn't succeeded because the mother chicken push away the bird. That's why when there is a crow flying around our chickens are scared and they hide. There is also a superstitious belief by some people that if you see a crow at your backyard or around the neighborhood. Someone will die or something bad is going to happen on your family or in your neighbors. But I don't believe in that. Not because their black color you will see them as a bad luck. Poor creature. Hayyss! Humans and their superstitions. Everything happens for a reason. If it is god's will. For me they're part of this world and they are beautiful creatures trying to live in this world. Thank you for stopping by! Godbless everyone!

New Puppies! Good morning readers! Our pet dog Pepe give birth to 4 cute puppies. Maybe that is why she is noisy last night. It was like past midnight when I heard her. But I just ignored her and get back to sleep. Because she's always like that every night. When woke this morning, I got the news from my mom because she always wokes up early. As soon I found out about it, I went to take a look at them and also I took pictures of them. Yay! All the puppies are healthy. And I know that Pepe is gonna take good care of them. It's not her first time to give birth. The pups she had before grew up well. They were also been adopted by other people who also wants to have a dog. She's a good mother dog. All of the puppies are female. No male came out. Just like the first time she give birth. All of the pups were females also. And they were all put to adoption because my mom doesn't want another female dog. Because they will multiply when they grow up. Haha! Surely all of these pups will to be adopted. Because we have enough dogs here in the house to take care of. For now, we'll just need to take care of the puppies until they are ready to be adopted. The puppies does not have names yet. If you have any name suggestions you can comment here. Thank you! Have a nice day everyone!😁

My Covid Experience Hello readers of the read.cash platform! How are you? I just want to share my experience during our quarantine time at the hospital. Last January 6, 2022, we went to the hospital to get my father checked up by the doctor because he is not feeling okay. He got a fever and body pain after getting his booster shot of COVID-19 vaccine a few day back. The doctor said he has to be admitted for medication. And I will be his watcher. But before we were admitted, we underwent Antigen testing to see if we are positive for COVID-19 virus. So I experienced to be pricked in the nose. Haha! It's not that painful. It's just irritating. After a few minutes the result came out and we tested positive. We also underwent RT-PCR test to confirm our case. So I got to be pricked in the nose again! Haha! It's a good thing that we were fully vaccinated that my father only has mild symptoms and I was assymtomatic or has no symptoms at all. They put us in a covid ward in the hospital to cure my father's condition and so that could not infect others. They give my father medicine for his illness. And after a taking medicines my father was okay. His fever were gone and also his body pains. But we can't go home yet. Because we had to wait for the result of our RT-PCR test. At first, it was kinda boring because there is nothing to do but just lay on the bed, walk around the room, and play mobile legends all day. It feels like you are in prison. But in a good way. Haha! There's always the fun part of the day. When the food arrives. Haha! Everyday they deliver food to us. Every breakfast, lunch and dinner. And all you gotta do is to eat the food that they give. Food is life! Haha! After 4 days of waiting in the hospital, the result of our RT-PCR test came out. And it is confirmed that we have the virus. But thank goodness that we were just mild case. Unlike other patients that are in severe condition. The doctor also let us go and just continue our quarantine at home. So that other patients with severe condition can use the room we stayed in. We already completed our 10 days home quarantine. But I still don't go out much. I only go out when I have to visit our crops at the farm. Thank God that we are okay. And prayers to those people suffering from the COVID-19 virus, especially those in severe condition. I hope that this pandemic will end soon and everything goes back to normal. Stay safe everyone!

Cornfield in Bloom! Corn is one of the main crop that farmers plant here in our province. Maybe also in other provinces of the Philippines. In fact, almost all farmers here that have wide farm lands plants corn. Even on the mountain sides or hillsides that can be cultivated were also planted. Farmers here prefer corn because it is easier to take care and not too laborious. Just plant and fertilize it. Then wait for it to bear fruit until it matures and can be harvested. But if there is drought, it will also need irrigation. Corns takes 120 days until it can be harvested. It's a long time right? But it's worth the wait. Especially when the price of it is high. But when the price is very low, the farmers loses. Because the farm inputs like fertilizers, and other equipments are very expensive. These are the corns that we planted. They are already blooming with flowers and also bears fruits. Maybe after more than a month, these corns can be harvested. And I hope that no bad weather or calamity will come that can ruin these corns. So we can have a bountiful harvest. Hopefully when we harvest it, the price of corn is expensive. So that we can recover the expenses and have a decent income. To support our family needs. That's all for now! I hope you like my content. I will also write an article about our harvest. So stay tuned! Thank you for your support! Stay safe everyone! Follow me on my photography life! nyOkiZz - out!
