Why shilling has a bad name?

If you believe in a project then why spreading the word about it such a bad thing?

Because most of the times those who are shilling a coin or crypto asset generally doing it in hope of making a big payoff.

Many of them don't even know much about the crypto in question and just focus on the future price potential of the said crypto.

Think of any crypto that has a toxic community and can't take any criticism at all.

How to identify a shiller?

Those shilling a crypto will rarely know anything about its fundamentals ad would focus on what the price could be in the future or how the price has performed in the past.

They don't know much about the technology and would hold their bags of that crypto in hopes of selling it all one day for a million dollars.

One of the best indicators is how the posts on its Reddit community are.

If they attack any criticism or ban facts or most of the post are just about the price and lambos or simply memes.

Here are so examples:

The Bad: Algorand

This is how I knew to stay away from Algorand.

I was looking into the project as it has some good concepts and technology but the tokenomics were messed up.

I went to the Reddit community and tried interacting with the community and quickly learnt to stay away from it.

The Good: Tezos

Tezos on the other hand was a opposite experience, I found people discussing uses cases, news, development and helping out other users.

One of the things I liked about Tezos is how it is building towards a smart contract ecosystem for security tokens of real world assets.

Furthermore, the Tezos community understand the technology and what is happening in the development side.

Instead of just sharing any random news from the internet.
