When to bet with No Draw option?

Disclaimer: I am just doing it for fun as I am a big football fan, sports betting can be addictive and should be done in moderation.

I am using the platform Thunderpick I have explained it in my article on how to use it which is Crypto to Crypto platform.

I am last post I gave a run down of the bets that I made on a few football matches.

In those bets, some of them were with the No Draw option.

Why did I choose that?

Let me explain...

What is No Draw option

Let's take a look at the example of the upcoming match of Peterborough United vs Manchester City

Here is a snapshot of the odds that are available

Here you can see that for this match we have the odds as 29.00; 10.00; 1.08

What this mean is you can bet on Peterborough United to win at 29.00 odd or the match to be a draw at 10.00 odd or Manchester City to win at 1.08 odd

What does odd mean?

Odds are how likely is that team to win and depending on that is your risk of losing the bet.

In the example above if you bet €1 on Peterborough United then you'll get €29 in return if they actually win, whereas if they loss the match you'll loss your €1

Similarly if you bet €1 on Manchester City to win then you'll get €1.08 return and loss your €1 bet if they loss.

The difference in the payout is because of the fitness of the team to actually win.

And betting on Peterborough United is super risky as they are one of the bottom performing team of this season and Manchester City is the top performing team.

So the chance of Peterborough United to win is very low, in fact it would be a miracle.

The Draw option

Other than either of the 2 teams winning there is also a third outcome which is that the match ends in a draw. Again since the likely would Manchester City will win is so high that the match being a draw is almost impossible.

The no draw option

If you look closely on the snapshot you'll see that there is a +4 option on the top right side as well. Which means that there are 4 more options available to us to bet on, so we'll click on it.

Now we can see that apart from the initial 3 option we now have more options to bid on, like Draw No Bet, Both Teams To Score, etc.

For now let's only look at Draw No Bet which removes the chance of a draw from the odds and you get the odds or only either of the 2 teams winning.

This means that in case the match is draw the bet is returned and you'll not lose your €1

This option is great for very risky match when 2 really good teams are playing and match could end in a draw.

The reduced payout

Because the one option of outcome is removes the odds also falls

Here you can see the odds for Peterborough United to win have fallen from 29.00 to 21.00 and Manchester City from 1.08 to 1.02

Now if you bet on Manchester City to win with No Draw option you'll only get €1.02

While the chances of Manchester City winning are super high and getting a 2% return is still a gain, I'll not go with this option because chances are high but outcome is still undecided and sports miracles can happen and the risk of losing €1 is still there. So the Risk to benefit ratio doesn't make sense at all, therefore I will not bet.

Even a 1.08 odd with 8% return with the risk of losing it all is not worth it. Generally I wouldn't bet on something with such low odds because its not worth the risk.

But since I am going to watch this match and cheer for Manchester City and just doing it for fun that is why I am going to place €1 bet on Manchester City to win.

So let's place the bet

Let's click on 1.08 to select Manchester City as out choice in with Draw odds

As I click on it a Bet Slip is generated in the right side giving me a box to place my amount.

I am going to enter 100 Thundercoins are my bet, which is equal to €1 and in the bottom it will show me the amount of Potential win which in this case is 108 Thundercoins equaling to €1.08
