Apple removing body parts from iPhone

We all know that Apple keeps removing body parts from iPhone like a psychotic surgeon

No more Sim tray

So the latest iPhone will not have a Sim tray for the US models.

Yup, now you can only use eSim to add network to your iPhone if you are in the US.

History of chops

iPhone very boldly removed the beloved 3.5 mm headphone jack so that people had to but their airpods.

Furthermore, more things have been cut out of the iPhone over the years.

Here's the crux

In 2016, Apple removed the headphone jack

In 2017, Apple removed the home button

In 2020, Apple removed the charger from the box

Now in 2022, Apple has removed the Sim Card try from the US models

How does removal of sim tray even matter

First of all it provides no advantage to the phone, now does it make room for other things like a bigger battery. Nor does it improve waterproofing in any way.

Problems from not having a Sim tray

Firstly international travelers will face issue when buying a sim, many countries (and you'll be surprised which countries) don't have many options for eSim.

Furthermore, at many places activation can take some time and it is not uncommon to wait for a hour or more for activation.

Plus if you want to change sim regularly it can be a nightmare.

Enough about the inferiority of the iPhone

Let's talk about what will they remove next from the iPhone

There are jokes going around that one day iPhone will just be a back panel.

Lol, while it is fun to make such memes and jokes, we should understand why Apple does this in the first place.

Answer: Greedy profits

If you want to sell more products remove choices from consumers

It's that simple, if you could still put earphone on your iPhone many many of the iPhone owner do you think will stick with the good old 3.5 mm earphones.

At least some, even if you market the hell out of airpods there would be a few who would still use the earphones.

By take the jack out of the picture you're denied that choice and that's hhow the Greedy profits are made.

The logic

So on that logic what is the next things that you can get from 3rd parties and removing them would make you greedy profits.

Well, what if you are the kind of guy or gal that doesn't care about earphones or airpods.

Well remove the speaker

Yes, if there are no speaker than no need to worry about people not buying the airpods.

Now without the speakers iPhone user will have to have airpods to listen to anything calls, music, etc.

You can say it is to make the phone more waterproof.

And speaking of waterproof

Let's remove the charging port

Well closing all openings will make the phone even more waterproof,

How will you charge the phone you ask?

Well you'll need a wireless charger, sure it is not very efficient and waste more energy that it uses. Buy hey, greedy profits.

Now any of these could go first or together

But these are the most likely choices, and these are the sane choices.

I don't think iPhone will remove the screen but at this point iPhone is just a closed body device with a screen and cameras.

One crazy idea which is unlikely to happen but might happen if the people are stupid enough is...

No more camera

Ok, so this is highly unlikely given the present scenario where iPhone proudly boost about their cameras.

But imagine if you will a future where Apple releases a Google len like wearable glasses with in built cameras.

In that situation it may be possible that iPhone camera might be sacrificed in order to promote that product, and well greedy profits.

So could the future of the iPhone is to become a closed monolith with a screen?
