Price of Boredom
What is the price of boredom?
Can it be quantified?
Some of such questions can haunt you when you feel the least productive.
For me they are a result of the unsettled mind disturbed from the current world situation
Everybody is afraid of the next calamity:
- another war
- monkeypox spread
- economic problems
- climate change
all these problems are real and slowly destroying our lives and our civilization
But the biggest problem is that these things aren't a cause of panic
people are so bored and complaisant that they do not complain or protest. Back in the 20th century governments were afraid of their people protesting.
Now we see government ready to do what they feel like while beating the small protests with ease.
Just a few days ago women were protesting against Taliban's law against girls studying at school, the numbers of the protesters were so small that when a Taliban boy shot bullets in the air the protest broke into a run.
if the whole of Kabul would have been there it would have gather much more momentum.
The price of boredom is that we lose our will to protest
Boredom from the economic hardship, boredom from the climate change, boredom from the mediocrity of life.
Boredom is what keeping the rulers in power
and only through will power can boredom be broken.
