Could Climate Change save Europe from freezing

Warning: Sarcasm Ahead, read discretion is advise if you find satire on economic hardship offensive

Ok, so if you aren't aware of the hold Russia has over Europe in terms of European energy needs please read my previous article "Could Russia be the next Super Power"

Europe's Energy needs

Long story short energy, in terms of oil, gas and the like is quite crucial to the world at large.

Most of the world's supply is from a few handful of countries with Russia controlling a signification chunk.

Furthermore...

Winter is Coming

And not just the Game of Thrones disappointing finale but the actual real world winter of this year.

And if someone doesn't know most of Europe is cold and in the winters the temperature drops significantly.

So much so that the homes need to be heated up in order to make it bearable and well not freeze to death.

Most homes are fitted with heating systems that use natural gas to burn and heat those homes and can you can where does most of the gas comes from?

40 to 45% of it comes from Russia.

And Putin is flexing that hold on Europe in response to the sanctions placed on it for invading Ukraine.

Counter-measures

In response to the energy crisis many places are considering rationing energy consumption and building up their reserves.

There are places that have strict policy in place that will be not allow anyone to cool their interior below 27 degrees Celsius (81 degrees Fahrenheit) or to heat it above 19 degrees Celsius (66 degrees Fahrenheit) in winter.

19 degrees Celsius

That is quite cold, which way below the comfort level for many people,

Cold showers

There are also talks in place to strict anyone from taking hot showers so the energy need to heat up water could be saved for more important needs.

(Now these measure I have listed are not for whole of Europe but from different countries)

Unlikely solution

The situation seems dire and the winter seems scary, the energy crisis is real and is already affect many European on a daily basis.

Still the future seems to be "Cold" to say the least,

But there is one thing that mot of the people are ignoring

Global Warming

Yes, the same thing that we have been talking about for decades and never actually done anything on and now seems to be at the point of no return.

What if this is the year

What if, winter never comes

Perhaps this is the year we will see the warm summer on Christmas and Europe never freezes.

Sure there will still be shortages and the fuel prices will rise but it could be instead of needing Natural gas to heat up homes this winter Europe may need oil to run its Air Conditioner

Well at least its better than freezing to death.

Sure the arctic ice will melt but that would mean a new beach destination for the vacationers (kinda like that episode of The Simpsons)

So what do you think could Global Warming be the thing that saves Europe from freezing this winter?

Perhaps my friend @BitcoinBaby can pinch in with some views on the matter.

Yeah, I don’t think this can happen overnight, but it sure is a nice way to bring some humour to a challenging situation 😉

If only people took environment and climate change more seriously. In all seriousness, hopefully things will get better soon.

Let me put in (pun intended) my two cents. Europe is prepared as winter is coming, there are enough supplies and more to be provided over the coming months. On country basis problems are increasing Specifically in countries like UK, Netherlands, Belgium and Germany as in those countries gas prizes have risen much faster than for example in Spain.

But if you ask me Putin is giving us a great gift, a painful one, but a necessary one. Finally people get hurt where it´s needed to get them thinking about reducing their wasteful usage of nonrenewable energy sources. What Greta started Putin is finishing, we might be late but better late than never.

Absolutely, in fact I had covered the same in my previous article. Exhaustible energy resources & Climate change is not a 21st century problem. But Big Oil money is too green, lol.
