Stir Fry Tauchu Chicken
In Malaysian Chinese homes, the actual dish is Stir Fry Tauchu Pork, and it is a common dish made by stay-at-home moms that many find nostalgic. The dish is sweet and savory.
Ingredients :
-350 g Chicken Meat (boneless, skinless, slice thinly)-2 pc fresh Red Chillies (roughly sliced)-2 pc fresh Green Chillies (roughly sliced)-2 Tbsp Fermented Yellow Bean Paste (Tauchu)-1 Tbsp Sugar-20 g Ginger-20 g Garlic-2 Tbsp Cooking Oil-1/3 cup Water (or more)
Method :

CHICKEN; In a large wok, heat 2 Tbsp of Cooking Oil until hot and cook the chucken until brown all over (2 minutes each side 4 minutes total). When done, move the chicken to the sides, away from the centre of wok to make a well.

SAUCE; if needed, add more cooking oil. Add the Garlic and Ginger into the well and cook until fragrant (10 secs). Then add the Tauchu paste and Sugar and cook them for 1 minute. Make sure to break up the paste.

WATER & CHILLIES; after 1 minute, add Water, Green and Red Chillies. Mix everything well, cover with a lid and let cook for 5 minutes.

SERVE; after 5 minutes, give it a stir. Continue to cook until the sauce has thickened. Serve with rice.
