What is the need for higher education and why?
Education broadens the horizons of our minds - to build life, to understand the world, to succeed in the profession of choice. In today's world, education has long been an institutional structure. Almost all professions require formal education and degrees on related subjects. There are two main levels in the university-based education system for acquiring knowledge - undergraduate or bachelors level and postgraduate level. At the undergraduate or bachelor's level, a four-year undergraduate degree is not required. At this stage the main goal is to increase the breadth of the student's knowledge. So during this time many things are taught. But there is no time to go too deep into anything. Bachelors or undergraduate education is sufficient for general employment. But a bachelor's degree is not enough to become an expert or to do research or to gain in-depth knowledge. Postgraduate or graduate level education is the next two to seven years of undergraduate education. This postgraduate education is basically divided into two stages. The first is Masters and the next is PhD or Doctoral Study. The main goal during this time is to increase the depth of knowledge of the student. There are opportunities for him in every subject - advanced coursework as well as basic research. Masters degrees are usually based on coursework. In other words, to get this degree, you have to do a certain number of courses and in some cases you have to write a thesis along with these courses. It usually takes a couple of years to get a master's degree. And PhD or Doctor of Philosophy degree is research based. Although called the Doctor of Philosophy, it is no longer limited to philosophy or philosophy — a degree based on a basic contribution to any branch of knowledge is now called a PhD. To get this degree, one has to do basic research on a subject and write a PhD thesis. The PhD degree is awarded only after the expert has approved the thesis after verification and selection. What it means to do a PhD in any subject, this student has acquired the deepest knowledge in that subject and has made a fundamental contribution to the world of knowledge.
Why do you need higher education?
Let's look at some specific reasons:
1. Research:
If you want to be a teacher or a researcher, you must have higher education. Because, it is not possible to acquire deep knowledge about any subject with undergraduate level education. To do that, you need to study at the Masters or PhD level. For that, post-graduate education is required for all professions like researcher-teacher-scientist. In most cases, a PhD degree is required to achieve these tasks.
2. Professional Advancement:
Many jobs require a Masters or PhD as an educational qualification. In many cases, for promotion or other advancement while working, a postgraduate degree is required to go to different positions. Many jobs offer a minimum degree, such as a master's degree, or various business positions. Speaking of having an MBA for. Again, if someone has a master's or PhD degree, they have more opportunities to do a variety of jobs than just a bachelor's degree.
3. Career change:
There are many people who may not be able to read the subject of their choice while studying at the university at the undergraduate level. Or read about a subject that is hard enough to get a job at the moment. In this case, if one wants to change one's subject, then studying the subject of choice at the postgraduate level can be a way. There are many of my acquaintances who have probably studied other subjects at the bachelor's level i.e. at the undergraduate level. But they have done Masters or PhD in Computer Science at the postgraduate level and through this they have been able to build a career later as a computer engineer or a teacher in this subject. So if you want to change the area and get a better career, higher education at the undergraduate level can be a way.
4. Gaining knowledge and learning something new:
I have already said that it is possible to learn a lot on any subject at the undergraduate level. But that’s not the time to learn something deeply in the corner. If you want to gain deep knowledge in any subject, then you have to take higher education in that subject at postgraduate level. So if you want to learn something very well and do something new in the future with that knowledge, then of course there is a need for higher education.
Now here is you task.
