Did you know that the turpial was declared the National bird of Venezuela, since it is true on such a day as today, May 23, but in 1958 the Venezuelan Society of Natural Sciences after sponsoring a contest to choose the representative bird of Venezuela, the turpial or turpial being officially chosen guajiro whose scientific name is Icterus icterus.
