Large architectural works are erected in Caracas or in Greater Caracas, which includes the Capital District and part of the Miranda State, one of them is CCCT Centro Ciudad Comercial Tamanaco, located in Chuao, Chacao municipality and is made up of five office towers, a Hotel with capacity for 200 beds and the Shopping Center with more than 450 stores and has 5,000 parking spaces.
For the construction of this majestic work, 83,000 square meters were obtained that were part of an old sugar cane farm, the main promoter and promoter of this work was the engineer Sirio Febres Cordero, a successful businessman from Merida. The architectural project was designed in its first stage by the Venezuelan architect Diego Carbonell Parra, who is the one who devised the inverted pyramid structure, being the only one in the world with these characteristics, even today it remains the only one in the world.
The first stage of the C.C.C.T. It was built between 1972 and 1976, built by the Ciudad Comercial Tamanaco company created for this purpose, among whose main shareholders were: Eraso Group, Blohm Group, Caracas Insurance Group and Rockefeller Group.
The second stage, which included the four office towers, the hotel and three levels of shops, began to be built in 1977 almost immediately after the first was finished and was completed in 1982.
The Tamanaco Shopping Center was the largest shopping center in Venezuela with its 480,000 square meters of construction until it was supplanted in 1998 by Sámbil, also located in the Chacao municipality on Av Libertador de Caracas.
