Live in a bubble or Risk everything for love? That’s the question of the author of the book. This is a novel about love, a love that is so strong that you'll wonder if you’re willing to risk everything just so to live your life. It defines life and living, while still delivering breathless romance. Nicola Yoon, the author, wrote this to her husband, who helped her show her heart and to her loving daughter, who made it deeper.  Everything, Everything is about everything a family, a mother, a daughter and lover would do for love. As a reader, I had a hard time thinking about how to answer that question, so reading the book helped me understand how she chose how to live and love life.

Madeline Whittier is a teenage girl who grew up inside a white room with decontaminated vacuum sealed windows and anti-bacterial air conditioning. The only people she ever sees is her mom and her nurse, she rarely has visitors and spends her time reading books. Her mom said she has a rare disease called Severe Combined Immunodeficiency also known as “bubble baby disease”. She is allergic to the world. She hasn’t left her house in seventeen years.

One day, Madeline looked out her window and she saw a tall, lean, handsome, and wearing all black from cap to shirt to jeans and sneakers. The boy caught her looking at him. The boy’s name is Olly. Ever since that day, they got in touch and they started to email each other. Later on, she fell in love with Olly. For the first time she let Olly inside her house, she went on a trip with him, she went swimming and the first time she disobeyed her mother. Not knowing from her mom about what she’s doing, she got hospitalized. The moment she knew; she didn’t have such illness or disease or any SCID. Her mom kept a secret. It was a lie. Madeline is not sick , her mom is just trying to protect her. After her mom lost her brother and her husband she did everything to protect her only daughter, the only thing that’s left. Love makes people crazy, loss of love makes people crazy.

After that, her mom finally let her live her own life.

The book is made and filled with love. It has everything: romance, heart, intelligence, courage and fearlessness.  Every character has their own way of showing love to one another. It’s adorable how the author described each character and gave them a specific look and manner. The main character, Madeline, showed how to love fearlessly. The book tells that we can all see everything with heart.

The book showed different ways of loving, protecting, fighting and living. In life, it’s not about your story, it’s about how you are living it. Love may be expressed in different ways and have unexpected outcomes that could make our hearts flutter, ache, sad, numb, and filled with joy. All of these feelings, it’s up to us if we’re going to keep on craving for more or ignore its flavor. The story may open the hearts of people who’d been hurt, forgot how to love, never been in love and ready to be in love. Life is a journey, so never forget to enjoy things because one day, you might regret that you missed what life is.
