Let's Explore Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury Pack Together

As the name recommends, it contains two games. The first of these is the patched up Switch adaptation of Super Mario 3D World, solely delivered for the Wii U support. We don't see anything new as far as story here. Bowser shows up once more, capturing a gathering of pixies and detaining them in manors all throughout the planet. We are attempting to accumulate the group and salvage the pixies from the containers they were detained in.

Bowser's Fury is the second round of our bundle, and it is delivered completely only for Switch. Bowser, Mario's most despised foe, shows up affected by a dark substance, a lot greater and more irate than previously. Bowser Jr, who needs to save his dad. We need to work with and clear the dark matter that has taken Bowser. As far as story, neither one of the games guarantees profound substance. In any case, the primary solid place of the two games arises in ongoing interaction. So how about we proceed onward to the part where we will examine the two games independently, without broadening the story part excessively.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury contains both a renewed version of the 3D World and a brand new game called Bowser’s Fury. Since Bowser’s Fury is a very different game compared to 3D World, we need to consider the two separately in the gameplay part. Super Mario 3D World is a game that was released for the Nintendo Wii U in 2013 and received positive reviews from the players. In fact, we can say that the biggest problem of the game is that the majority of the players do not have a console and therefore it has been overlooked. Contrary to its name, we try to complete the episodes with one of the characters, each of which has its own unique abilities, in a world that is not exactly 3D.

In the beginning there are four characters we can play. We choose one of the four characters and try to complete the episodes, each of which consists of different concepts. Luigi, who can jump higher but is out of balance, Peach who walks slowly but can float, Toad who runs faster but is worse at jumping, and Mario who can do everything to his own self are the characters we can choose at the beginning. We should not forget the Rosalina, which you can open after completing the main story, and Captain Toad, which is given to us from time to time.

We are trying to collect enough green stars to allow us to enter the next castle by navigating between 2.5 dimensional platform sections and 3 dimensional sections that allow free movement. Almost every episode has a different concept and most episodes have a different gameplay style. In the haunted mansion, there are sections where we escape from ghosts, we do not play by following the shadows reflected on the wall, we walk in secrecy without getting caught in the lights, where we ride on the back of a dinosaur on the water and much more. Section designs such as puzzles that we solve using the touch screen, floors that change their place according to the music or our jumping, mazes in which we try to find our way in pipes "Let's see what's next?" manages to keep his excitement for a long time. (The different episode designs that we come across constantly manage to keep the excitement of “Let's see what's next” for a long time.)

It is very enjoyable to play with a lot of different episodes, lots of different power-ups and characters who have their own abilities. There are some problems, of course. For example, it is annoying that a game that claims to be 3-dimensional restricts us with fixed camera angles. The fact that the game was exclusive to Wii U allowed some parts to be made using the console's touch screen. On the switch console, you are trying to compensate for these sections with Joycon's motion sensor. As someone who enjoyed this system in Mario Odyssey, I could not get warm in 3D World. When you use the console in handheld mode, the touch screen becomes active. In this way, you can experience the episodes as they should be.

Super Mario 3D World offers multiplayer support for up to 4 people. If you've ever played a Mario game in multiplayer mode, you know it's both a fun and frustrating experience. In this game, on the one hand, while trying to complete the level, you have to engage in struggles such as collecting the most points and attaching the first crown, grabbing the power-ups, reaching the top of the flagpole.

The multiplayer mode is great fun but I have some complaints. Some parts of the game are designed for only one person, and it becomes a complete mess when many players are involved. The camera takes his head away, you cannot control the dinosaur in the water because two people are shooting it in different directions, and the worst thing is that the actors have common rights. If a player constantly dies and runs out the number of rights, everyone is thrown away. The chaos is fun, but it's ridiculous to even kick out actors who didn't die because their rights were over. You can imagine the suffering of a person trying to play with his 7-year-old nephew. Also, since the amount of rights you have at the end of the section is preserved in the next section, it is very unreasonable to enter the next section with only 1 right. Since all save points will be reset when you are discarded, it makes more sense to die when you enter and play again by renewing your rights. Considering that the game gets very high in difficulty after a certain episode, do not neglect to apply this tactic.

The multiplayer mode also has online support, so if you don't have anyone at home to play the game, you can also play with others over the internet. In addition to the problems I mentioned above, there is also a problem of not getting the character you want, but if you ignore it, it is a very nice feature. However, I would rather not play at all than with Toad. It's boring that there isn't an option, at least until Rosalina opens up. At least they could have added Daisy to the game, or they could let players choose the same characters.

The Switch version of Super Mario 3D World has brought some minor innovations to the game. There are improvements such as the ability of the characters to move faster than the original game, to roll or dive in the air. In addition, the photo mode known as "Snapshot" has also been added to the game. In this way, we can shoot with the camera in the game and stick the stickers you want on the photo. The fact that the camera angle of 3D World is fixed can prevent us from taking pictures as you wish. The number of tags we can use on a photo is also limited, and we can't play around too much, but it's sure to be a fun add-on.

As a result, 3D World, published in 2013, is a game that will allow you to have a very enjoyable time on the Switch console. You feel as if you are playing high-quality episodes in a script by a lot of different designers in Mario Maker. Yes, some boss fights or puzzles start to repeat, especially towards the end, but this is not a big problem. You can play alone or with a few friends and have a good time. Many improvements could be made in the Switch version, but I think they didn't want to spoil the original version.

It's time for the game in Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury that attracted my attention. Although Bowser’s Fury looks like a DLC pack added alongside 3D World, you realize that you were wrong when you enter the game. First of all, the fixed camera is gone, and we can freely navigate the Lapcat Lake region with a camera that is completely under our control. Lapcat Lake is a place where you can get enough of cats. Everyone, friend and foe, has somehow assumed a shape related to cats. This time, Bowser Jr. is not our usual teammates with us. has. We are faced with Bowser, who is much more angry than before.

Those who have played Mario Odyssey before will be no stranger to this episode. Just like in the Odyssey, we collect gold from the surrounding area, solve puzzles, collect things called "Cat Shine" hiding in secret places. The place of our hat friend is Bowser Jr. has received. If you are playing alone, you can choose how much Bowser Jr can help you. While you are trying to overcome the obstacles around, Jr. can collect gold for you and hit the enemies with his brush.

The area, which is mostly sunny daily, reveals its real face when it gets dark and the rain starts. When Bowser, possessed by black matter, awakens, meteorites start raining down from the sky, peaceful cats around the lake become more flaming, and we have the opportunity to go to some places we normally can't reach. There are a number of different methods to quench Bowser's anger. First, it is possible to find the object named "Cat Shine", activate the nearby lighthouse and make it go back to sleep. When we find enough "Cat Shine", we become a huge cat by taking the power of the giant bell and get the opportunity to fight one-on-one with Bowser. When we beat Bowser well, he escapes to a new area and we continue our work to save him. If neither option is possible, it is possible to wait for him to return to sleep after a while after yelling and blowing a flame on us. The last option is to die. In this case, Bowser goes back to sleep.

My Result

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is a great package that includes two different games. Bringing the gems stuck to a console that most players don't have to this Nintendo Switch is definitely the right decision. It is annoying that they do not add some features and repetitive parts in order not to spoil the original form of 3D World. Bowser’s Fury is not as good as I expected, with its repetitive parts and short game play time. You have to think like the presentation of the game that is planned to be released in the future, not like the main game. But the good thing is that these two games are together.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is worth the $ 60 price tag with the two games it includes. It takes at least 15 hours to sit down and finish both games alone. With the addition of features such as collecting all collectible objects and playing multiplayer modes, a very long game time is offered.
