We will look for the answer to your question. Let's first see how it was the first impression the game left on us.

While enjoying the magnificent view, mosquitoes can bite all over you. This means that it is an experience where you will have nice things at first but then annoying. Outriders, a third person game decorated with RPG elements, had aspects that I both loved and did not like so much. When I put the grand total on the table, I can say that I left with the thought of "it could be better" but satisfied with the game. It is not yet a separation, but I recommend you to read carefully what I will pass on.
The story of the game is about the struggle of human beings who are seeking colonization after the destruction of the Earth. After our planet turns black and disappears, we manage to kidnap a limited number of people with two large spaceships. While one of the ships is sent off to eternity in the desolate horizons of space - that is, while exploding - the other manages to hold on to life. The survivors find a planet to colonize and ultimately send their vanguard troops, or Outriders, there.
Although the vanguard troops were very similar to Earth before, they sense strangeness on the planet. As such, we start research studies. The planet is also home to some technological materials that will be useful for us. When we say we are trying to collect them, we realize what a big shit hole the planet we fall into, so to speak. An unusual storm of anomalies has embraced the planet and devouring everything that gets in its way. It sends waves of energy that turn people into ashes when they come into contact like a lightning strike. Of course, instead of killing some people, this grants them divine powers. As you can imagine, our main character is an Outrider who somehow got his share of these powers and became "Altered".
The storm we fall into is killing the entire Outrider team that set out with us. Although we insist, the commander of the vanguard unit refuses to say to the onboard, "Do not get down here, this is not a place to live" and people are starting to colonize it. Of course, we kill him before the storm eats and swallows him. We are getting cold at least. But at that time, we crash down severely injured as a result of an explosion, and one of the crew next to us freezes us in a tube called "Cyro" before leaving.
When we wake up, we open our eyes to a completely different world. 31 years have passed and some important names have managed to live together with our teammate who saved us. In this world where mankind has colonized, he has fought war and the Altereds, who have superior abilities like us, provide the balance. As an Altered, we join our old friends' side. For our Outriders review content, it will be enough to mention the story that much. If we tell about the ongoing process, we will touch on the parts that may be spoilers for possible players. Let's add that the story is linear and the narration is enhanced by cinematics. It should also be noted that these cinematics and dialogues are very well designed and tell the story without upsetting or boring the actor.
They kept the character customization thing superficial
You can adjust what your character looks like when starting the game, so at least within some restrictions. First of all, know that it is not possible to make any adjustments to your character's body. You can only customize the face, hair and scars. Was it really so necessary to customize wounds? It is discussed. I can even go a little further and say that it was included just for content. You create the face and hair by choosing from the presets. In addition, it is possible to make changes such as skin color, hair color and eye color. If you wish, you can create a wild, harsh-looking character like the one on the left, or you can create a character that will enter the shampoo and skin care product ads as I did. I removed the scar on his face immediately after taking the screenshot.
The World Tier feature is pretty nice
There is a system that adjusts the toughness of the world and the difficulty of the game as you progress in the game. This system called World Tier comes as "auto increase" in default options. What does it mean? It is like this; As you progress through the story, your difficulty level progresses in the form of World Tier 1-2-3-4. While the difficulty increases a little more at each level, the quality of the rewards you receive increases proportionally. Of course, you can feel this very clearly when you go a little further, the boss battles become brutal; You cannot resist too much when you are caught between 3-4 enemies. Outriders also allows us to make adjustments for players who are not satisfied with this situation. If you wish, you can say "Let the World Tier increase as I progress" or you can disable this option. Let us remind you, it comes with the default open.
If you ask me, keep this setting on until the enemies start to wear you out. There are 15 different levels in total, and when you run out, you can choose the level that challenges you the sweetest and stay there. I can say that this actually guides you in setting the difficulty while warming up to the game. Especially in a game like Outriders, it has been a great advantage.
RPG elements and equipment variety
We are in one of the most crucial parts of our Outriders review content. Every player asks an RPG game to be able to develop and customize their character in any direction they want. In this game, RPG elements are densely processed and appear as a strong aspect. After a certain part of the story - I can't say, spoiler - you are asked to choose your character's class. There are four main classes in the game, and their advantages, disadvantages and contributions to team play are different.
Let's briefly talk about classes. First, you can choose Technomancer in the support role. This class is not meant to deal high damage or attract enemies, but to help teammates. We can call it the most effective class for team tactics. In addition, the Pyromancer, who can deal high damage at medium range but is fragile, helps to clear other enemies around, especially in boss battles, by spitting fire. Although the damage is high, we can qualify it as a kind of support class.
The Trickster class, on the other hand, can be called the killing machine form of cyber ninjas adorned with magical powers. These characters, who are completely damage-oriented but very fragile, can bear the boss battles alone when they get enough support. Of course, a thick ankle and a strong shoulders tank is always a necessity in every team. The Devastator class, which I have chosen, is one-on-one to interrupt the attacks of enemies who cast over long periods of time with crowd control and abilities. At the same time, with his high health values, he bears the damage his team will take, allowing others to do their jobs comfortably.
When you choose one of these four classes, you are on a path of no return. The levels, abilities and items you gain with your character can only be used for a single class. You have to create new characters to try different classes. Each class also has its own skill tree and hundreds of passive abilities that it can activate. The diversity in the talent tree that branches off helps you determine your style of play. Let's say that it is also successful in this regard.
Speaking of classes, let's also point out that each of them has their own unique active abilities and it is essential to use them. In order to give you the clearest experience, I will talk about the capabilities of the tank class because I have used it extensively and the game in some real sense compelled me to do so. I liked the quality of the talent animations. The abilities are also very well adjusted in terms of their effects and balancing the game. Even if you are a tank, you can take your life without the need for a technomancer. You have the right to select three abilities to use at the same time, and the skills unlock as you level up with your character. You may even need to do a SWOT analysis while selecting these three capabilities. Also, your items can be combined with your abilities.
To give a simple example, my character has a skill called "Earthquake". When I use it, I can both damage the characters in front of me and upset their balance. The feature of the helmet I use is that when I use this earthquake ability, it creates a bleeding effect on the enemies I damage. In this sense, the event of combining items that we can call indispensable for RPG games with abilities has been handled very well in Outriders. There is also a wide variety of item skins. As you level up your weapon, it not only gets stronger on paper, stronger weapons also have different looks. Along with that, there are weapon and armor modifications, and by giving your items the features you want, you can "create your own build" that we know from RPGs. This is a nice feature that allows you to choose your own direction in fast battles. I must say I liked it very much.
Third person gameplay mechanics are a bit of a controversy. The toughness of the feeling of hitting makes it different from enemy to enemy. While you really feel that you are hitting weaker and smaller enemies, the bullets you shoot at enemies that are large in size and heavily armored only lower your life. However, you can also break their balance by using talent against them. If we look at this tactically, it makes sense, but it seems a little strange in gameplay that the gun that shook me on the computer did not shake the enemy.
I also need to mention the quality of artificial intelligence. You will struggle with well-designed artificial intelligence that you are not used to seeing in such games. PvE has been given the right in this matter. Artificial intelligence attaches you by saying that the defense "does not just defend" the place it should be, the best defense to repel you is the attack. And if the difficulty is above a certain level, you feel that you are really making an effort to cross a zone. People Can Fly has done a really good job on this.
Although I play the PC version of Outriders, it should be underlined that the game is also available for new generation consoles. Unfortunately, the chronic illnesses of Unreal Engine 4 affected this game very badly in terms of graphics. The image and texture loading of moving objects look awful. The game looks better at high settings than at ultra settings.
In addition to all this low visual quality, it puts an enormous load on the processor. I think they compute the particle systems of the game with the CPU, not the GPU. This causes an unnecessary load on the processor. Stuttering occurs when drawing models and textures where you look for the first time. Although it decreases after a while, when you first enter the game, you have to walk around for a few minutes and wait for it to recover. This is a situation experienced by almost all players in general. Square Enix has announced that it will fix the situation, but for now, know that this part is annoying.
I could not find any teammates in Outriders, whose instant player number is around 100,000. Yes! I have no idea how the matchmaking system works, but since I could not find a few people out of a hundred thousand players to include me in their games, it does not work well. I spent a long time searching for a team to test the online experience of the game. I finally found it, but if I had progressed alone, I would have finished half of an episode during this time. However, as you know, cross-platform games have turned into a problem as of now. I cannot say that the cooperative playing feature, which is the most dominant aspect of the game, works very well. Nevertheless, in case there is a regulation on this subject in the future, I leave this paragraph open and give it a chance not to affect the final opinion. This section may be updated in the future.
Long story short
Let's collect what we mentioned in the Outriders review content. His story is superficial enough to frustrate pure sci-fi fans, but also comprehensive enough to quickly grasp those unfamiliar with the sci-fi genre. The storytelling is enhanced with cinematics, and we can tune in to the camera shake event in these cinematics. It is a game that I can recommend in terms of both narration and accessibility. The gameplay mechanics make you feel like you are playing really fast and under pressure. RPG elements add flavor to the flavor of this. If the technical problems weren't that annoying, I could recommend it to you with peace of mind. However, I recommend that you wait for a while for now. I will also update our Outriders review content if the problems are corrected by following the game in the future. This is all I was going to tell you in this review, we hope to see you in another review. Stay with love and play.
