A quality photographer does not only mean producing good photos, but also a photographer who knows manners. Learning to understand cameras and how to make great photos can be learned quickly and easily.
But learning to be polite is a process that must be practiced every day. Photographers are humans too. Photographers must be able to empathize and sympathize.
Here are some etiquette when carrying out shooting duties:
1
Do not take pictures while singing the national anthem Indonesia Raya. Do not do activities that would interfere with the solemnity of the anthem Indonesia Raya. Stand up straight and sing along. Taking pictures of the speakers or VIP guests can be done just before the national anthem is sung.
2
Do not move back and forth and make participants or resource persons uncomfortable seeing the photographer's behavior. By carrying yourself as politely as possible you as a photographer will be respected.
3
Do not take pictures of the sitting or squatting position, especially with your back to the guest because it is considered impolite. Photographer kneeling or standing with knees or even sitting cross-legged. Don't forget to ask for permission from the guests in the back before taking pictures.
4
Before doing the task of taking pictures at an event, try to coordinate first with the protocol and the committee. This is intended so that the committee can fully understand the needs of photography, such as the placement of an ideal photographer's place.
5
When you want to take pictures of an agenda that will be visited by many photographers, come early to get the best position. Do not cover the photographer who is already on standby.
6
A photographer must prepare photo equipment before the event starts. This is to anticipate the occurrence of obstacles such as the battery has not been / not charged, the memory card is full or not installed, the need for lenses, flash lighting and so on.
7
When taking a picture of someone you don't know, you don't have to snap right away. Need to ask permission first because not everyone likes to be photographed. You also need to explain the purpose of shooting for personal or commercial purposes.
