The story was told without the utterance of a word.
The narrative was depicted without an account of connected events.
There were no pictures, yet the imagery persisted.
The lips were moving. If you were just mouthing the words,
Did you really mean them? With no exposition,
There is no background; the world was not built.
But the rhetorical mode of discourse would not give up
For that reason, we have a semblance of a story
A happy ending. Maybe.
