Technology these days makes the kids forget how fun during the old days. Also, it prohibits kids from socializing or making friends. It's what to expect since the fun these days can be found inside their houses. Like meeting, talking, playing games and many more. That's why a lot of children don't care about going outside. "What's the reason for going outside when they're enjoying inside the house." Most of the children think that way for sure. It's not that bad either. It's correct after all.
Although, I don't quite agree about it. Imagine, we need to build our confidence. We need to learn how to interact with someone. We can't live alone for the rest of our lives. If we are not used to it of course we will be afraid to approach someone in person. We don't know what to do. We don't know what to say. We don't know how to show the expression. There are so many ways that we need to consider. We can learn through reading or watching. But we will never understand how it feels if we don't do it in reality.
Fortunately, in our province, the kids are not being devoured by this technology. Of course, they have televisions, mobile phones, computers and many more. Even if they have those. They still have the time to spend time with other children. They are still playing the games we used to play when we were young. Perhaps, they saw it from the previous generations when they were still younger. It will never be forgotten as long as someone played it first before they grow.
One of the 90's games I recognised was the one I saw yesterday. We call it in the Visayan word "bon-anay on bola" or in the English word "throwing a ball." This kind of game is simple but gives so much fun to the children. We all know how simple the happiness of children can be found. Just run and run, the giggles of other children and the laughing. That's it and they will feel contentment with it. I know all of us are aware of it. And they can find it from this kind of game. But how to play this game?
How to play the game
There are no specific numbers to remember. It can be many as you like but in every child, there will always be a pair. They will do the game jack n poy to finalise who will be in the centre and will avoid being hit by the ball.
They will create a circle where the children can pass the ball to fool the children inside who will be throwing.
Make sure that the children will not be hit by the ball or else he/she will be out of the game.
The child who was being hit will leave the circle and wait until all of his/her allies will be hit as well.
A child can save his/her allies if he/she will be the only one left in the circle.
If that child will avoid the ball three times. He can save one ally. If that child that was being saved can do the same. They can bring back all to their allies to go inside and resume the game.
However, if all of them will be hit by the ball. They will be the ones who will create a circle and will be throwing the ball.
The game will just keep on playing like this until they will get tired.
