Why we love our dogs

Loyalty is one of the most important qualities a friend can have. When someone is loyal, you know they’re reliable. You know you can trust them, and that they will always have your back. It is what sets your true friends apart from the rest of the pack.

Being loyal to those around you can be a challenge, as it requires patience, kindness and generosity. Loyalty is the ability to put others before yourself and stick with them in good times and bad. Loyalty is not judging others.

However we normally misunderstand loyalty. We seem to think that loyalty is about not criticizing or correcting others when they actually need it or even when they are wrong (i.e. being “nice” to others).

A dog is considered man's best friend for a good reason. Their loyalty is one of a kind. A dog can never forget or betray its owner. Humans do all the time betray one another. A dog can never judge you. Whether you are a bad or good person, a dog will stick with you. A dog can never correct you when you are in wrong. And I think that is what makes us love our dogs.

Humans are never like that especially loving, caring and kind friends. They will tell you off when you are wrong. They will do it not to annoy you but rather to protect you.

I know most people do not like it. We would rather stick with our dogs. And that is why we love our dogs.
