We are surely not alone!
I have always pondered about this question a number of times. I am not sure what is more scary. Is it us being alone or knowing there are others some where far?
The universe is a vast place with so many mysteries. Imagine you are an alien on planet z 100 light years away looking at your phone right now. Now in the same moment your brother on planet earth is on medium writing an article. You and your alien brother are in the now moment.
Imagine again that you can look at each other across these vast distances (of course ignoring all the obstacles in your sight path). What will you see? I assure you, you will not see your brother, you will see the future of your brother’s world, may be an apocalypse. In the same way, If your brother on earth happens to look your way, he will not see you but rather the past of your world. It there fore appears, time is meaningless if you consider the big picture ( when you start thinking outside the box, earth).
Knowing that we are not the centre of all that happens in the universe of course kills our ego but it is a reality that needs to sink in our little heads.
There are billions and billions of planets and stars out there. That alone should tell us that life is not as scarce or only limited to earth as we always want to be believe. Life is surely abundant in the cosmos. It is only that the universe is so big that we have not got contact yet using our current technology. We need to keep searching.
