Oresund Bridge - Denmark Sweden
Oresun Bridge is one of the most fascinating bridges in the world, because the combined bridge - tunnel (underwater) and the longest bridge in the world that crosses the state border. At the top there is a road with four lanes for motor vehicles, while at the bottom there is a railway.
It connects the Danish city of Copenhagen and the Swedish city of Malmö, it is about 8 km long. Halfway between these two mainlands is the artificial island of Peberholm where the bridge part of the structure ends and the tunnel part that plunges into the sea begins, about 4 km long. The island was made of material excavated from the seabed during the construction of the bridge. The tunnel consists of as many as five smaller tunnels, four of which are intended for road and rail traffic, while the fifth is for evacuation.
The construction of the bridge and the flood tunnel as well as the construction of an artificial island is considered an architectural marvel of Scandinavia
