My wife went to my birthday party and said I wasn't waiting for her because she would be back late. That night before bed, I went out into the garden to open the garage door for her. But as soon as I stepped outside, a strong draft slammed the door, and I I didn't have a key to myself. Yes, I stood in front of my house, safely closed and safe from intruders and owners. and so I sat on the steps ready for a long wait. here I experienced something from today's text, some girls were late for the wedding and stayed in front of the door. they are the image of those who do not respond to the call of salvation for life. and after death it is too late! in the story of the ten girls Jesus points out that five were wise, that they were preparing for the coming of the bridegroom. when he appeared they entered the procession and went with him to the wedding. the other five were unwise, they were late and came to the closed door. they shouted to the Lord the Lord! open to us! but he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not (vv. 11-12) about the coming of the Lord Jesus the same fate awaits many why? because they did not accept him as a personal savior in time. for something like that it is never too early but it can be too late !!!!
