Dogs don’t like people who don’t like their owners

A recent study, conducted in Japan, showed that dogs can evaluate their owners' relationships with other people, even when those relationships have no direct connection with them!

Simply put, it means that if a person doesn’t love you, your dog knows it!

Scientists Chijiiva, Kuroshima, Hori, Anderson and Fujita devised an experiment in which three people and 1 dog participated.

One in three people owned a dog. People were sitting on chairs, but so that the owner was always in the middle. One man played a "helper" and the other an uninterested "villain". Opposite them stood a dog.

The owner took a box (which did not contain toys or dog food) which he tried to open. As he did not succeed, he turned first to the "helper" and asked for help. The helper would hold the box and the owner would then open it easily. After that, the owner would turn to the “villain” who would just turn his head at the owner’s request to help him open the box. The box would remain closed.

As in every experiment, a so-called "control situation" was constructed, in which the owner did not ask for help, but only paused briefly in opening the box, at which point the villain would turn his head away from him.

In that case, the owner "failed" to open the box.

On the other side was a "neutral", a person who just sat passively.

After that task, the “helper” and the “villain,” and later the “neutral” and “villain,” offered the dogs the same treat. The dogs gladly took the treat from the "helper" and the "neutral", but never from the "villain"!

If the experiment confused you a little, here is the conclusion - dogs know very well what your relationship is with another person.

The dog from the experiment avoided the "villain", i.e. a person who hasn’t helped his owner, and in everyday life that means your dog doesn’t like people who don’t love you!

So, if your dog especially avoids someone, listen to his advice - avoid that person too!

It sounds silly, but Japanese scientists say it's true!
