Did you know these things about dogs?

Our dogs have always been our best friends, loyal companions and most importantly - our family. Therefore, it is quite natural that we are completely fascinated by the facts about dogs and all the possible interesting information that we can get. We are completely enchanted by our four-legged friends and want to discover as much as possible about them.

These creatures are not only adorable to watch, but dogs never judge their owners. They donโ€™t care if youโ€™re rich or poor, what skin color or faith you are, they accept you just the way you are.

Color blindness

There is a general belief that dogs cannot see colors. This is not really true and dogs see colors, but not with the same intensity as humans. Their experience of colors is more similar to our experience of colors at night.

No two noses are the same

A dogโ€™s nose is equivalent to a human fingerprint, each having a unique pattern of crest and crease. In addition, their noses are always wet to make it easier to absorb and process odorous particles in the air.

Dogs dream like humans

If you've ever noticed your puppy twitch in his sleep, it probably means he's dreaming. Researchers have found that dogs have similar sleep patterns and brain activity as humans, and that small breeds tend to dream more than large ones. Scientists suggest that they probably dream of familiar activities such as playing or catching tails.

Black dogs are less likely to be adopted

Statistics show that black dogs are the least likely to be adopted. Throughout history, black dogs have been associated with "hell dogs" and people have considered them a bad omen. Of course, this is far from the truth, and if you are thinking of adopting, give black dogs a chance.

They are as smart as two-year-olds

According to dog researcher and author Stanley Koren, a dog and a two-year-old child are similar when it comes to their brains. He also explained that a man's best friend can count, understand more than 150 words, and even trick people or other dogs into getting treats.

Tail wagging

If your dog waves his tail excitedly, it means he is happy to see you, right? Not necessarily. Dogs wave their tails to the right when they are happy and to the left when they are scared. Low wagging means they are insecure, and a quick wagging of the tail accompanied by tense muscles or dilated pupils can signal aggression.

Puppies are born blind and deaf

Newborn dogs are still developing, so their ear canals and eyes are still closed. Most puppies open their eyes and respond to sounds after about two weeks.

Sixth Sense

According to surveys, 67 percent of pet owners reported that their pets behaved unusually just before a storm or earthquake, and 43 percent said their pets behaved unusually just before something bad happened. How did they behave? Whining, "wild" behavior or trying to hide in a safe place. There are even reports that dogs can feel diseases, such as cancer.

Sweating

Although they sweat through the pads of their paws, their main form of cooling is panting. The only sweat glands in dogs are located on their pads on their paws.

Yawning

When your dog yawns a lot, you probably just assume it means the same thing it means when we yawn - drowsiness. It can be a sign of fatigue, but dogs yawn for other reasons as well. Dogs can also yawn to calm down, so repetitive yawning can be a sign that your puppy is feeling anxious or stressed.
