The world’s largest social network will soon offer us a new feature that will help us silence notifications and get more management options.
Due to the spread of the corona virus pandemic, millions of people around the world spend more time in their homes. One consequence of this is the increased levels of use of social media.
While these services can be helpful in connecting people and overcoming a crisis, they can also raise anxiety and stress levels. So they decided to introduce Quiet Mode on Facebook.
If you turn it on, most of the notifications that come to your device will be muted, and the app will notify you if this mode is active every time you turn it on.
Silent mode will be possible to activate manually, once or set it to turn on for certain periods (for example, at the same time every day).
You can change these settings through the Your time on Facebook category. For now, it is unknown what all notifications will be silenced, but will likely include privacy notices and other statutory notices, Popular Mechanics reports
