Struggles of Gloomy Days
There are many things that can affect your mood and one in particular that may seem irrelevant to our emotions but actually can affect us is the weather. Although this may not be the case for everyone for some people we have our own perspectives on how the weather affects our moods. Taking the rain for example some may find in calming and relaxing while others would find it sad and depressing, for those wondering how I see the rainy and gloomy weather it is the former with a touch of laziness. Waking up to a gloomy day makes me feel unproductive, the sound of rain pouring and striking the ground relaxes my mind, the cold breeze makes me want to stay under the blanket longer, and the darkness and gloominess make my eyes heavier. Having to go to work or for my case going to school with this type of weather condition is the toughest both mentally and physically. Although it may seem like an undesirable thing there really isn't anything we can do about it.
"Sunsets are Proof that No Matter what Happens, Every Day Can End Beautifully"
-Kristen Butler
This quote conveys a really meaningful message about how our days can always end in a positive manner. Whatever the weight you are bearing on your shoulders throughout the day one small positive occurrence can make us forget about the bad things that happened and it reminds us that we won't be suffering all the time. The photo above was taken when we went on an outdoor trip despite the weather not being on our side. It was gloomy and cold, it even began to lightly drizzle and yet we still pushed through with our plans. In the end of the day we still got to enjoy this trip and of course the day ended with an astonishing scene of the sunset. Upon seeing this it was hard to believe that it was even a gloomy day. It is quite a rare occurrence for this to happen and something I never thought was absolutely possible. The next following photos were also taken on a gloomy day but this time the rain was still pouring heavily and despite that the sun still illuminated the entire clouded sky.
"An Unexpected View"
The day started normally, the skies were blue with only a few clouds and the sun with its blazing rays shining. I thought we were in for another hot day but little did we know that the monsoon was about to make its debut. As time had passed dark, gray clouds began to envelop the sky bringing a cold yet desirable breeze. On that afternoon the rain began pouring and for hours did the downpour not stop. It was close to the evening and the rain was still pouring heavily and I noticed looking at our window that the tint was rather way too orange for it to be raining this hard and so I went outside and beholden a beautiful sight. Despite the afternoon sky being shrouded with gray clouds and the rain pouring heavily, the sun managed to illuminate the sky with its glamorous color.

During the rainy season one really can't expect to see the sun often, sometimes when I wake up during that season and see that the sun is shining it gets me wondering if a storm would pass by because as they say there is the "calm before the storm".
"A Natural Phenomenon"
Yet another day with the sky filled with dark, gloomy clouds. As the afternoon approached it began to drizzle lightly, the outside was dark as if it were late in the afternoon. As the time was near the evening once again another beautiful sight of the sun illuminating the sky but this time with a natural phenomenon was beholden. Rainbows posses a variety of symbolisms it can mean hope, solidarity, peace, and one that I used to believe in luck. One funny thing that always comes across my mind is as a child I've always heard about a Leprechaun with his pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and that if I would go to its end I'd be a wealthy person. Seeing tis during a gloomy day wasn't all that surprising since rainbows do form when light rays hit the droplets of water but what obviously surprised me once again was the sun shining once again. The photo in the right is the angle opposite to where the rainbow was and it completely looked like a different place as the colors were much more vibrant.
In Conclusion
Being able to witness these in person is truly a blessing and I am grateful for having the chance to share these with you through photographs of those moments. This is a highly subjective matter and I would gladly like to know your views on gloomy weather and sunsets as well. 2020 indeed may have have seemed like a terrible year to most but let us not forget these small moments in life where we felt pure joy and bliss despite all the negative occurrences happening throughout the world. As we are transitioning into the new year let us be optimistic for our Here's to hoping for a better year for the entire world. In the end of the day it is up to us how we see the positive things in life and make the most out of them.
