Contagion, it is 2011 movie that has based on a deadly virus MEV-1 which spreads around the world in a matter of days or weeks, this movie has a similarities on what is happening today. COVID-19, Corona virus disease 2019 now a pandemic disease which has similar symptoms to MEV-1 a cough and fever. Both illness originated in Asia.
As we can see in the movie Contagion, in the scene where Mrs. Emhoff a woman who works at AIMM Anderson traveled to Hong Kong and when she returns back home to Minneapolis she starts showing signs of flu. In a couple of days, many people were dead and they didn’t know where this disease is coming from. Day 3, where Mrs. Emhoff died from MEV-1 and next was her son. Her husband immune after he was investigated. In the movie there’s Alan, a journalists that posts some facts on his blog where many people believe him especially in treating the disease by using a homeopathic cure derived from forsythia. The movies shows that doctors are hardly tracking the spread of virus until it becomes pandemic which really shows what is happening today. Dr. Hextall, who studies the strain and begin testing the vaccines on them to seed up the process. As we can see in the movie after the vaccine has released, many government officials receive special treatments and they receive vaccine before other people. Dr. Mears, after staying on a hotel she got a symptoms of the virus couple of days she died because of the virus, we can relate this to all of the doctors that died because of the COVID-19 where in Italy there were 17 doctors were dead because of the COVID-19. As the government said in the movie, vaccines will be distributed within 144 days. At the very end of the movie we can see where the virus come from in the first place and how it travels from person to person. At the ending, I was shookt because there came out in the subtitle “Day 1” where I didn’t expect because this scene shows how the bat drop the banana to a pig farm, and eaten by a pig. That pig were slaughtered and prepared by a chef in a casino. This chef shake hands with Mrs. Emhoff, transferring the virus to her.
So yes, we must often wash our hands. Hand sanitizers are all over the place these days. Avoid close contacts with people. There is nothing much that we can do. Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean. We better stay home for our safety and health.
