Have you ever been here in Batangas? It is the place that I am talking about. Batangas is located in Southern Luzon Calabarzon. Its is 95 km away from Metro Manila and almost 2 hours driving time. And here in Batangas is the place where I belong.

I was born and raised at this beautiful province of Batangas. My parents are both from here also. I am a true blooded Batangueña. We as a Batangueño have a very nice culture.Batangueño is very jolly, we are always smiling no matter what or how heavy our problem is. Maybe that's why even we are in the different part of the world, we can easily mingle to other people. Some say that we as  Batangueño are very "malambing" or very sweet. According to others Batangueño are brave thats why they are afraid to go here but no we are not. We are brave to face all challenges in life but not like that war thingy. Maybe they say that because we are known in the famous dangerous knife balisong.

BALISONG

Batangas is popularly known for crafting balisong or butterfly knife. The word balisong is from Tagalog words "baling sungay" which means broken horn. Balisong is come from also to the name of the barrio where you can find selling knifes and bladed tools in the roadside. However no one knows whether the dagger was name after the barrio or the barrio got its name from the knife. Balisong have different sizes and the popular is they called bente nueve ( 29 ), I dont know why they call that but it is a long butterfly knife and you will afraid if you see that because of its shining and sharp blade. Thats the reason why they called Batangueño brave or matatapang.

Batangas is one of the most tourists destination near Metro Manila. It is the place of the well known Taal Volcano which has been erupted last year and still active until now. Last week it is erupted to what they said phreatic eruption. And still on its dangerous level 3 which means there is a possibility to erupt again. Taal Volcano is the most beautiful but dangerous one. You can find here also the Taal Heritage Town, a small town that has ancestral houses and structures way back in 19th century. To tell you honestly i ve never been there, im still foreign in my own province. But soon I will go there to see the beautiful places like that.

BEACHES AND RESORT

If you want to go to a place for summer getaway, Batangas is one of the best. You can find many beautiful beaches and resorts here. The clear water and the beautiful surroundings makes you to feel relax. The beautiful ambiance and the fresh air, you will love for sure. You can do scuba diving and snorkelling here. Ths beautiful coral reefs under the water is amazing. Matabungkay, Anilao, Laiya Beach and Isla Verde are the most famous, but you can see many here. You can do hiking here also. What are you waiting for? hehe...Come with your love ones in the romantic and peaceful place like this. For sure you will go back again.

LOMING BATANGAS

We are also known for our delicious food and delicacies and one of them are the famous Loming Batangas. Lomi is a delicious noodles recipe with thick sauce and overloaded of toppings like meatballs, kikiam, pork, pigs liver, pork cracklings or chicharon and hard boiled eggs. And put in a one big serving bowl. For sure you will forget your name after you eat this. HAHAHA...Your tummy will be happy and Im sure with that. Many delicious food here but too many to mention. Just drop by here and you will see.

There are many beautiful traits of Batangueños. Being hospitable, religious and very all out in terms of money. Batangueño are very kind hearted.Even they need to borrow money they will just for the sake of others. But theres one thing I dont know if it is a good traits or not.They borrow money just to have a big celebration when there is an special occassion. They say "maubos na ang yaman, huwag lang ang yabang" HAHAHA but I dont think it is not a good trait for me. Good in other way and bad in other way. In this pandemic time we need to be practical, its hard to earn money now. Many people lost their job. But yeah we have different views in life and situation so let them be.

And one thing others are afraid about is whey they found a Batangueña to marry. Because Batangueño are known in having a grand wedding celebration. They said it once in a lifetime so they called this "bonggang kasalan". But not all is like that, it depends to the capability or financial status of both party. So to the man who read this, now you know.....HAHAHA Im just kidding guys. And that is the proof that Batangueña are jolly like me.
