Booksmart or street smart? As we grow old mostly of what we want and believe change. Like when it comes to your perception. Let me share to you what point of view I have during the times that I am still a student. When I was in grade school I am grade conscious, but I am not belong to top 10, I am just an average student but I make sure that I maintain my section from grade one to six which is section 1. And one of the rules of my father is if we have a grade that are 79 and below he will not sign our report card. When we are kids me and my siblings consider it as an achievement haha. While during high school all I want is also to stay in section 1 since mostly of my classmate starting grade school are also my classmate till high school so my sets of my friends are also in the same section. But this time no pressure to have a good grades lol. But when I am in college all I want is just to finished my studies, I do not care if my grade is 3 or what you called "pasang awa", I even have a failed grade which is 5 and the worst of it, it happened twice in just one subject. When it happened I just move on right away, since I am working student that time and I have my own earning its not big deal if ever I failed. But thinking about it I just realized that I wasted thousand of pesos because of that since the price of per unit during that time is more or less 1k since that subject is 3 units hmm its really a bit big amount for someone like me who is working 4 to 6 hours a day during that time. Yes it is better to have a good grades when the time that you will look for a job. But I also have met lots of people who have good grades in school and most of them are good in presentation, but when they were already in the actual situation they do not know how to strategize. Its hard to be live in by the book all the time, sometimes you have to be aware what is in the real world. Coz not everything are taught in the school. There are also people who have very low grade before but became more successful compare to those people who are in the honor list. As what we say, you can never judge someone just because of their scholastic records, coz there are people that are stabilized by their own experience in life. Maybe it is better to have a balance knowledge, in order for you to survive in the real world. Coz as what saying says after you finished your studies thats the time you will face the real challenge in life. Study hard but dont be harsh on yourself.
