The Void Dragon is a legendary-level monster from the Dragon unit in the Chaos Legion edition. At level 2, it has an estimated cost of $11.405 and boasts a magic attack of 1, speed of 5, and health of 8. This dragon has a Flying ability that increases its chance of evading melee or ranged attacks from monsters that do not have the same ability. Additionally, its Void ability reduces the damage it takes from magic attacks. Scholars from Draykh-Nahka have identified this dragon as a new sub-species of a dragon, known for its resistance to magic and preference for hunting at night. The Void Dragon is described as having a sleek, feline-like body with multiple eyes and a bat-like snout, making it unlike any dragon seen before. It can phase in and out of existence and move quickly and gracefully. However, encountering this dragon is not without danger, as it has razor-sharp teeth and a vicious tongue that it uses to deadly effect.

Lineup Details
Kretch Tallevor (Summoner): no abilities.

Void Dragon + Gargoya Scrapper + Soul Fiend: support cast - support damage while Djinn Chwala soaks up all damage.
Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
This battle strategy was simple: Djinn Chwala acted as the tank with the armor and health to take all the hits, aka meatshield, but it was also able to deal damage with three melee damage and via its Thorns ability. The backline provided support damage and chipped away at the opposition until they could be picked off. The Void Dragon was in the 2nd position in battle in case Djinn Chwala fell because of its high health. Its impact in battle was vital as it was the only magic monster in battle and could pick away at the opposition monsters, who were all heavily armored. Overall a satisfying victory.
Do you like the Void Dragon? Why or why not?
The Void Dragon, on paper, will not be a powerhouse due to its low magic damage, but its abilities (Flying, Void) and speed are more focused on reducing or dodging damage. However, is the $11 for a level two legendary card worth it? It depends. If you are looking for another monster with the combo of Flying and Void abilities, then it’s the only one with that specific combo. If you drop the Void ability, the Regal Peryton is a viable alternative, but it can only be played in Earth unit battles. Your mileage may vary, but there is merit in adding Void Dragon to your splinterlands collection.
