Top Beginner Tips & Runi Update 12 | Splinterlands #322
I took a break the past week from the journey to share my 3 years+ journey on splinterlands. It was great reading about everybody’s journeys with splinterlands with many being involved since the early days of Steemmonsters and then reading about those who have only recently discovered the game. And there’s a new challenge by the splinterlands team where they have requested the community to provide starter guides and tips for beginners.

Okay now with the nice positive things out of the way, let us deal with major news that was announced by the splinterlands team.
Land 1.5 Release Delays
If you not actively following the splinterlands Discord or watching the latest Town Square, then you would’ve missed the major news that the Land 1.5 release has been delayed till November 28th. From what I have gathered, there was a major exploit discovered the past weekend which may have put people's splinterlands assets at risk. Personally, waiting an additional two weeks for the release does not bother me as we have been waiting for what it feels like forever now so what is an additional two weeks? Do not get me wrong – I want the Land 1.5 release but would want the splinterlands team to take the time it needs to ensure the Land 1.5 release does not de-stabilize or introduce security exploits into the splinterlands game.
Rebellion Set
Comprehensive information about the new Rebellion set, including card statistics and artwork, will be gradually unveiled to the public in the upcoming weeks, with the Rebellion set going on general sale on 5th December. The pre-sale continues to go well with more than 350000+ packs being sold.
DEC <-> SPS Flywheel Effect
We also got more insight into the splinterlands game flywheel effect in the Town Square. DEC's value is pegged to splinterlands assets. The SPS token is a key component of the flywheel, allowing users to burn SPS tokens to mint more DEC, influencing DEC's price and increasing demand for Splinterlands assets. The Land 1.5 release is crucial for this flywheel effect to materialize. Before the announcement of the Land 1.5 release, we saw a huge increase in the inflation and printing of DEC as people were burning SPS to acquire DEC necessary to stake monsters to Land plots.
Runi Fund
With Bitcoin and ETH breaking through $37k and $2k resistance levels in anticipation of the BTC and ETH ETFs, and it’s good to see that spillover effect into the splinterlands ecosystem. DEC has remained stable since passing the $0.9 per 1k DEC and it continues to rise to the $1 per 1k DEC peg.
The flywheel effect is slowly starting to kick in. Over the past two weeks, the DEC printing has increased, and one can safely assume that people are burning SPS to print DEC in preparation for the Land 1.5 release.
In terms of the Runi fund, I have added another 19k DEC to the fund and the fund has passed the $400 mark. Therefore, I have reached 80% completion of the challenge and will continue to progress to the $500 target.
Runi Market
As it is been two weeks since the last update, and we have been in a mini crypto bull revival market, it's always interesting to see if that crypto FOMO spills over to the Runi NFTs. Quite surprisingly the floor of Runis has remained the same as per the last update – 0.23 ETH. The USD value of the Runi NFT has increased, but that’s a given with ETH breaking through the $2k resistance level.
Regarding the sales activity of Runi NFTs – things have been heating up. The past 7 days have seen eighteen transactions equating to $11k in volume. The sales range fluctuated between 0.1938 ETH ($394.52) and 0.45 ETH ($944.42). Now I assume this spike in activity is people coordinating and preparing for the Land 1.5 release.
