Silenced Summoners Ruleset Battle Mage Secrets | Splinterlands #309
This week’s battle mage secrets on the Silenced Summoners Ruleset.
Ruleset Details
The Silenced Summoners ruleset in splinterlands differs from other rulesets where summoners play a crucial role with buffs and debuffs. In this ruleset, summoners do not provide any stat or abilities to any monsters. Choosing a summoner in this ruleset is uncomplicated - opt for the lowest mana-cost summoner from your desired Splinter. One approach I have found that works are to focus on monsters that provide buffs and debuffs, such as team armor buffs (e.g., Defender of Truth), or reducing melee damage debuff (e.g., Molten Ogre) or speed buffs (e.g., Ruler of the Seas). There are so many options regarding buffs and debuffs that it will depend on whether you want to hit hard and fast and out damage your opponent or whether you want to outlast your opponent and therefore the focus is on survivability.
Given summoners offer no buffs, the focus shifts to buffing the monsters directly. Players are advised to conserve mana for monsters with beneficial buffs and debuffs. Recommendations include Defender of Truth for a team-wide armor boost, Molten Ogre for demoralizing opponents, and Light Elemental for creating headwinds, particularly effective against flyers. The emphasis is on adapting and strategizing in the absence of summoner-induced enhancements, promoting a more direct and tactical approach.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
This battle became apparent as a foregone conclusion the moment I saw my opponent's line-up. Credit to my opponent; they outsmarted me, and I found myself without a viable counterstrategy. Up Close & Personal, Silenced Summoners, and Fog of War—set the stage for a battle dominated by melee monsters, emphasizing damage, speed, and survivability. However, my opponent took it a step further by deploying Flame Monkey with its armor repair ability, proving to be the decisive factor. Despite Lord of Darkness activating its Enrage ability and delivering six melee damage and five-speed, it failed to outlast the resilience of the Djinn Chwala.
Do You Like the Silenced Summoners Ruleset? Why or Why Not?
The important thing about this ruleset is that everyone starts at the same level playing field and no one has the advantage by playing their overpowered summoners such as Yodin Zaku. This ruleset also gives utility to those Epic-level summoners that have no stat buff or abilities to start with but do provide advantages as they allow you to play higher-level monsters. My main account has a few of these Epic summoners and it is always good to bring them out when this ruleset is available. Finally, I like this ruleset as it is not restrictive and provides a level of simplicity with the focus shifting to the monsters and your strategic selection of them which will determine whether you will land a victory or a loss.
