Road To The Glory Land - Update 22 | Splinterlands #284
Another week has passed in my challenge to owning a complete Chaos Legion Regular Foil Set and Land, and I will closely monitor and transparently share all details about the challenge in these posts.
Road To The Glory Land - Update 22
Starting from July 6th, 2023, splinterlands is set to implement substantial changes to its ranked battle rewards and tokenomics system. The collection power requirements for each ranked battle league and tier will be eliminated, making way for a reward multiplier based on the amount of staked SPS owned by the winning player, including both personally owned and delegated SPS.
The new reward system will employ a formula that considers the player's ranked battle rating, ensuring that higher ratings result in increased earnings. This strategic shift aims to incentivize players to hold and stake more SPS, thereby fostering a stronger and more stable ecosystem. Moreover, splinterlands has plans to introduce a rental market for staked SPS, enabling players to lease out their staked SPS for 7-day periods and receive DEC, an in-game token, as payment in return. While this change may cause a reduction in earnings for my alt account, my main account holds the majority of my staked SPS, and I remain optimistic that these alterations will enhance the game's economy in the long run.
Land Budget
In last week's update, as anticipated, I surpassed my $100 budget and achieved even more. The previous season in splinterlands came to an end while a new month commenced, offering the perfect opportunity for me to consolidate all my earnings and allocate them toward a specific goal. Last year, I was focused on the 1k Chaos Legion pack opening challenge, whereas this year, my focus lies on acquiring Land plots in splinterlands. Although I will surpass my initial objective of acquiring one Land plot, securing an additional occupied plot of Land seems to be an ambitious goal that might be out of my reach. The cost of Land has begun to rise, and I would need to triple my Land fund to buy an occupied Land plot.
Land Market
To improve the Land price tracking sheet, I have modified the color scheme. Now, I use orange to denote no price increase, green for price increases, and red for price decreases. This color scheme better aligns with the traditional associations of price fluctuations. Throughout this challenge, I cannot recall a time when the overall Land prices increased. Additionally, I have introduced a harmonic mean as an index for the Land market, as it gives greater weight to smaller values in the series. This index value provides supporting evidence for the observed upward trend in Land plot prices. Land 1.5 is still three to four weeks away, and I eagerly anticipate the next town hall, where I hope to gain more details on release date.
