Road To The Glory Land - Update 21 | Splinterlands #282
Another week has passed in my challenge to owning a complete Chaos Legion Regular Foil Set and Land, and I will closely monitor and transparently share all details about the challenge in these posts.
Road To The Glory Land - Update 21
A few days ago, an unexpected splinterlands town square took place, offering a different format compared to the more structured town halls. The main objective of this event was to encourage communication and gather diverse viewpoints from the community by actively engaging members in the Discord chat through voice or text. Numerous topics were discussed, including the Rift Watchers edition DEC proposal, the continuous decline in the $SPS price, the proposition to ban bots from the Modern league, and the utilization of Soulbound cards on Land. Among these, the latter sparked significant outrage within the community, and I fully share in this sentiment. Personally, I have no intention of using Soulbound cards on Land. The expectation for players to burn more DEC due to their usage seems excessive. It disregards the fact that the player base has been enduring a crypto bear market for the past 1.5 years. Now, demanding additional expenditures when players have already earned these Soulbound reward cards appears disingenuous. If such a proposal is put forward, I will firmly vote against it.
Land Budget
Moreover, an additional $9 was added to the Land budget this past week. I anticipate that the total will approach the $100 mark by the end of the month. I have yet to decide which plot of Land to purchase, as I already own a Magical plot and would prefer something different. Currently, I am considering an occupied plot, but it costs $320, which is not feasible for me, considering my desire to acquire the next plot of Land before Land 1.5 is released. Initially, the team had stated that Land 1.5 would be released earlier, but it has now been postponed to August.
Land Market
This week, I introduced some color coding to the Land price tracking sheet to determine whether the price has decreased (green), stayed the same (orange), or increased (blue). Overall, the prices of Land plots have been a mixed bag. Some plots have seen price increases, while others have remained stable, and the rest continue to establish a new floor price. It is important to consider that the recent proposals have had an impact on the price of DEC, as it has experienced a spike over the past week. While this is beneficial for the game's overall economy, it poses a minor inconvenience for budget-conscious players (me!!!) who wish to engage in the Land gameplay.
