Road To The Glory Land - Update 19 | Splinterlands #278
Another week has passed in my challenge to owning a complete Chaos Legion Regular Foil Set and Land, and I will closely monitor and transparently share all details about the challenge in these posts.
Road To The Glory Land - Update 19
It's quite weird not having a splinterlands Town Hall session to delve into the latest developments of the game and what's happening in and around the community. The team has decided to transition the town halls to bi-weekly updates. While this change may be beneficial, allowing the team to concentrate on crucial milestones, it also hopefully ensures that the roadmap remains on track without any delays.
Staking Monsters: A Crucial Challenge
As I mentioned in the previous update, my focus has been directed toward the next part of the challenge - staking monsters. This challenge encompasses multiple steps, including building up the DEC funds to stake monsters to work on the land. The first step involves identifying the monsters I will be staking and then diligently tracking the returns they generate.
And so, for the past week, my attention has been devoted to determining which monsters from my collection I will stake. On my main account, where I have purchased a Land asset plot, most of the cards belong to the Beta edition. To assist me in this process, I have been utilizing the Land Calculator tool provided by Peakmonsters. This tool helps me calculate the Production Points I can obtain by deploying Beta monsters to my Magical Land plot.
According to the calculations, I am looking at 5508.6 Production Points, resulting in a production rate of 55.09 grains per hour. The long-term significance of grain within the splinterlands game is still uncertain. However, if there are valuable use cases for grain, it could potentially become an additional source of income within the splinterlands ecosystem.
Acquiring DEC: Fueling the Staking Process
The next stage of this challenge involves acquiring enough DEC to stake the monsters to the land. Fortunately, I should be in good shape as I have sufficient liquid funds available to purchase the required DEC. While exploring my collection to identify monsters for staking, I realized that there are quite a few monsters that I don't actively utilize in battles or brawls. This realization has sparked contemplation regarding setting another stretch target - acquiring an additional piece of Land. The initial set of monsters I will deploy to the Land plot includes:
Stone Golem: Rare, Level 5 (22 BCX), Beta Edition.
Clay Golem: Rare, Level 5 (21 BCX), Beta Edition.
Silvershield Archers: Common, Level 7 (106 BCX), Beta Edition.
Crystal Werewolf: Rare, Level 5 (22 BCX), Beta Edition.
Baby Unicorn: Common, Level 6 (52 BCX), Beta Edition.
The first question people would ask is – isn’t it better to rent out these monsters? Yes, that is a valid question and one I have considered, but why not both (until returns can be compared later)?
The Land Market: Opportunities and Savings
Now, let's turn our attention to the Land market. Although It has been two weeks since I last tracked the Land market, and interestingly, we are witnessing the lowest price yet for Land, albeit for a Common Plot of Land. I must admit, there's a sense of vindication knowing that I seized the opportunity to acquire that Magical Land last week. The next cheapest piece of Magical Land is now priced at $150. Taking into account my current savings, I will need to target at least $200 worth of savings if I want to purchase another piece of Land and have enough DEC to stake monsters to it. The feasibility of this endeavor remains uncertain, but it's a goal worth striving towards.
