Rebellion Set Purchase Strategy & Runi Update 13 | Splinterlands #324
Traditionally around this time of the year, many people and companies start to ramp down and take things slower. However, in the splinterlands ecosystem, it feels the complete opposite. There is so much going on with another Town Hall meeting held, the Rebellion pre-sale coming to a close, more details about the Rebellion set (#1, #2) being released and the Land 1.5 release still scheduled for November 28th.
Rebellion Set Details
The splinterlands team in the Town Hall and over the past week has been dropping bits of info on the new Rebellion set cards on the official splinterlands account. Personally, I love the new Rebellion artwork and I think the splinterlands creative team has done a fantastic job in creating a fresh style and theme for the Rebellion set. The cards look crisp and full of color and the new monster and summoner character artwork are unique in the splinterlands ecosystem. It is like when you get an old game that has had an HD remaster for the latest console – that is my perspective on how the Rebellion set cards are when compared to other splinterlands sets.
My Rebellion Set Challenge
As I alluded to in a previous post, I will not be running another 1k pack opening challenge which I did for the Chaos Legion set. Financially this was a very difficult challenge to pull off and due to the crypto bear market, I have lost almost $2k+ on card values. Also, even if I held the packs, I would have been worse off. At least at this point, I can utilize the Chaos Legion cards on an alt account.
For the new Rebellion set, I will be running a new challenge where I will aim to have a complete regular foil Rebellion set playable at Gold I / Diamond III. This will be achieved by purchasing cards off the secondary market on a week-by-week basis and slowly getting a complete regular foil Rebellion set.
What I have not finalized is whether I will open a new splinterlands account or do it on one of the alt accounts. The motivation for having a new alt account as it will make tracking purchases and earnings easier. During the previous 1k pack opening challenge, it was challenging to keep track of airdrops, token values etc. I will make an announcement post when I kick off the challenge, but for now, let us focus on completing the current challenge.
Runi Fund
Over the past week, I continued to purchase DEC and added another 11k DEC to the Runi fund. I now have 423k DEC in the fund which equates to $396.25. When the Land 1.5 release is officially released next week, I will be withdrawing 30k – 50k DEC to stake monsters to the two Land plots that I purchased as part of the previous challenge.
All splinterlands tokens in the past week have seen a minor correction with the price of DEC now sitting at $0.927 per 1k DEC. This impact can be seen in the Runi fund where even though I added 11k DEC to the fund, the overall fund decreased by almost $10. This may be attributed to the spillover effect of BTC and ETH both experiencing minor price corrections the past week.
Runi Market
The Runi NFT market has remained somewhat subdued when compared to previous updates. The floor price of Runi’s remains unchanged at 0.23 ETH ($472.26). The past 7 days have seen seven transactions equating to $3896 in volume. The sales range fluctuated between 0.229 ETH ($438.76) and 0.467 ETH ($935.69). It will be interesting to see if there is a spike in sales activity once the Land 1.5 release is officially released.
