Rebellion Set Is Live & Road to Runi Update 14 | Splinterlands #328
In this week's splinterlands weekly update, we unpack the Rebellion set going live for general sale, progress on the Land worker site, Land 2.0 whitepaper, and update on the Runi challenge.
Rebellion Set Is Live
The Rebellion set went on general sale on 5th December. So far just under 30k packs have been sold in the past 2 days. This is a lot lower than I expected, but we must remember that we did almost sell 500k packs during the pre-sale window. With the Rebellion set being live, it also meant that the Untamed set has been moved from Modern to Wild. Modern league players will be rejoicing as there will be no more Kitty overpowered teams in battle.
In last week's update, I started identifying cards that I will look to target first when I kick off the next splinterlands challenge in the future namely -- purchasing a complete regular foil Rebellion set playable in Gold/Diamond leagues. Fellow splinterlands content creator, @stever82, did a fantastic video series on the new Rebellion set and I highly recommend you go through them and while you are there subscribe to his YouTube account especially if you want to stay up to date about splinterlands.
Land 1.5 Update
Both my Land plots are currently under construction, with both Land plots expected to finish production in 21 days and 20 days, respectively. It will be great to finally have these Land plots producing Grain and SPS and start to pay off the initial investment cost of $255.
Runi Fund
The splinterlands token market has been great the past 2 weeks and is in line with DEC remaining stable since it broke past the $0.9 per 1k DEC mark a month ago. Since the release of Land 1.5 and the beginning of the flywheel effect kicking in, we have seen DEC touch the $1 peg mark a few times in the past week. SPS has almost doubled in price since the last update and is now trading at $0.0291. With the flywheel slowly starting, let's hope this is the beginning of the SPS tokenomics and the long-term sustainability of the game.
Since the last update, we added another 10k DEC to the Runi fund and the fund is now sitting just under $420. We are making good progress and need to remain focused as we work towards the $500 target, even with all the hype and FOMO of the Rebellion set that is quite tempting.
Runi Market
It's been two weeks since the last Runi NFT market update and the Runi market has been heating up. The floor has risen from 0.23 ETH to 0.28 ETH ($630.46). With the crypto market revival and Land 1.5 release, I am kicking myself that we didn't pick up Runi earlier when the FUD was in overdrive, but no point in having hindsight bias because then I would say I would I bought BTC when I heard about it in 2013 for $1000.
Runis sales activity history is also up with $11k in sales volume. The sales range fluctuated between 0.2413 ETH ($491.10) and 1.987 ETH ($4312.47). With the floor having risen, I still have hopes of trying to do a deal around $500 for a Runi and will not be too fussed about having the most unique or rare Runi with certain traits.
