Holy Protection Ruleset Battle Mage Secrets | Splinterlands #289
This week’s battle mage secrets on the Holy Protection Ruleset.
Ruleset Details
The Holy Protection ruleset gives the Divine Shield ability, which gives all units with immunity to their first attack, effectively reducing any damage received to zero. This ability persists even after the resurrection, providing a great advantage. However, one must remain mindful that Blast damage can still breach the Divine Shield and is something to consider during battles. Regardless of the opponent's rank or strength, the holy shield ensures the initial attack is entirely negated. Also, what I have seen is that Poison-based strategies can act as an effective counter, inflicting damage over time and turning the tide of battle in one's favor.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
The following battle serves as an example of negating the Divine Shield's potency. By employing a summoner equipped with Blast ability (Yodin Zaku) or battles with the Explosive Weaponry ruleset, which grants all monsters the Blast ability, players can find a way to penetrate the Divine Shield. In this particular encounter, I faced a tough opponent with higher-level monsters and a summoner. The turning point in the battle came when I strategically deployed Venari Crystalsmith, a healing-based monster. Thanks to Venari's healing I managed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
Do you like the Holy Protection ruleset? Why or why not?
The Divine Shield ability in the Holy Protection ruleset levels the playing field initially, shifting the focus to strategy and timing rather than sheer force. One aspect of this ruleset lies in the challenge it poses to break through Divine Shields efficiently and optimize each move's impact. Personally, I enjoy rulesets that enrich the battle experience rather than restrict players or limit their use of monsters and abilities, making the Holy Protection ruleset a resounding positive for me. Currently, there are only 12 monsters and 1 summoner with the Divine Shield ability and these monsters and summoners are generally expensive therefore the Holy Protection ruleset is making it a premium skill available to all.
