Heavy Hitters Ruleset Battle Mage Secrets | Splinterlands #287
This week’s battle mage secrets on the Heavy Hitters Ruleset.
Ruleset Details
The Heavy Hitters ruleset in splinterlands grants all monsters the power to deal double damage when attacking stunned enemies via the Knock Out ability. This ability becomes active when a monster launches an attack on a stunned opponent, providing a significant advantage in battles. To leverage this ruleset effectively, it is crucial to include monsters with the Stun ability in your lineup. By stunning enemy monsters, you can trigger the Knock Out ability and unleash devastating double damage attacks. Monsters like the Revealer, Twilight Basilisk, Lava Launcher, and Hill Giant possess the Stun ability, playing a crucial role in disabling enemies and setting up powerful strikes.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
During a recent battle, I found myself pitted against a formidable opponent with the legendary summoner, Yodin Zaku, and a backline of monsters dealing a staggering 18 range and magic damage. The eight-speed (!!!!!!!!) Spark Pixies stunned my Gelatinous Cube on their first hit, therefore facilitating it receive eight damage due to double damage, which set the scene for the remainder of the battle. The combination of the Keep Your Distance and Even Stevens rulesets limited my playable card options, leaving me with little chance of victory. Even when Bila the Radiant managed to land a hit, its Stun ability failed to proc, denying me the advantage of the Knock Out ability. It was a devastating defeat, showcasing the destructive potential of the Knock Out ability when properly utilized by the opposition.
Do you like the Heavy Hitters ruleset? Why or why not?
The Heavy Hitters ruleset challenges players to embrace a strategic approach by capitalizing on the Knock Out ability. It urges us to think beyond default team compositions and explore the opportunities provided by the ruleset. This aspect of Heavy Hitters is what I appreciate the most. It encourages experimentation with different monster combinations and the utilization of stun mechanics. Stun, as a unique ability, adds an element of unpredictability to battles. It grants players the chance to disable enemy monsters. The synergy between Stun and the Knock Out abilities creates intense and thrilling battles that demand quick thinking and smart decision-making.
