This week’s battle challenge focuses on the Healed Out Ruleset.

Ruleset Details

The Healed Out ruleset removes all healing abilities in battle. This includes the Heal, Tank Heal, and Triage abilities, as well as the healing capabilities of summoners. In this ruleset, monsters are unable to regain health, and the healing Inhibited state cannot be eliminated by Cleanse or Immunity monsters. One effective strategy is employing a high damage output strategy, particularly focusing on abilities that amplify damage, such as the Strengthen ability. Additionally, equipping armor with Protect and Repair abilities can greatly increase the survivability of your monsters. Also, utilizing monsters with Sneak and Opportunity abilities to directly attack the back row can significantly increase the chances of victory.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

Among my frequently utilized combinations in splinterlands, the pairing of Crustacean King and The Kraken stands out as an overpowered duo. However, in battles with low mana caps and under the Healed Out ruleset, the deficits imposed prevent me from deploying either of them, necessitating the exploration of alternative strategies. In this battle, I opted for dual Blast and dual Shatter abilities to maximize backline damage and destroy opposing monsters with high armor. These tactics proved effective, complemented by the inclusion of Lord Arianthus, who possesses the ability to reflect damage. A satisfying victory!

Do you like the Healed Out ruleset? Why or why not?

I find the Healed Out ruleset to be a challenging one, primarily due to the absence of healing abilities, which renders my ever-reliable Beta edition Water unit combo of The Kraken and Crustacean King. I have played so many battles with this duo, and sometimes finding alternatives can be challenging. Nevertheless, I do appreciate that this ruleset does not exclude monsters from battles. Although monsters and summoners lose some of their effectiveness without their healing abilities, they can still be utilized, which is undeniably a positive aspect. And for those familiar with Cobra Kai, adopting the "Strike First, Strike Hard, No Mercy" mantra becomes the number one effective strategy in conquering a ruleset devoid of healing abilities i.e., high damage, high speed!
