This week's battle challenge focuses on the Rare Dragon Monster card, Gloridax Soldier:
What the Gloridax call a soldier many of the other armies of the Splinterlands consider a highly specialized master of weaponry, one who wears custom armor and carries into battle all the might and fury of Dragons. Most of the Soldiers are scaled, and some can even fly. The Gloridax also allow dropborn (The alternative to eggborn) to become Soldiers, but of course they always use those ones first in any skirmish.
Card
I didn't have the Gloridax Soldier card and therefore went onto the market to pick it up. I picked it up for $0.094. For a level 1 card, the Gloridax Soldier has two abilities - Shield and Flying. I think thats great value for what I paid. I don't have many Dragon cards and was sorely missing a tank who could lead for my team.
Battle
My first battle with the Gloridax Soldier was in the low mana battle (14), which worked out quite well as the Gloridax Soldier was the lead tank that I was missing for these kind of battles. I used the Gremlin Blaster as the support tank and the Serpentine Mystic to provide the magic damage from the back. The strategy of having the Gloridax Soldier as the lead tank played out perfectly in the battle. It's two abilities are really overpowered as it provides additional armor as well as evading attacks.
At the end of the battle, the Gloridax Soldier remained undefeated towering over its slained enemies. Full Battle Replay
