Fave Rebellion Card Combo & Road To Runi Update 15 | Splinterlands #330
In this week's journey update, we explore some new combos in the Rebellion set, provide an update on Land plot constructions, and get an update on how the Runi challenge is going.
Rebellion Card Experience
The Rebellion set has been on general sale for just over a week and we starting to see the Rebellion cards more and more in battles. I don't have any Rebellion cards nor have purchased any packs, nor will I be purchasing packs, but once my current Runi challenge is done, I will kick off my next challenge -- which will be looking to get a complete Rebellion regular foil set playable at Gold / Diamond League.
However, this hasn't stopped me from getting exposure to playing with Rebellion cards. In this week's latest Brawl, I was placed in a Fray that gave me access to all the starter cards for Rebellion. It was great to experience the new gameplay mechanics with the preparation phase, the new abilities, and all the new strategies that come with the new Rebellion set.
In one of the Brawl battles, I discovered a new combination that I can see myself using often in the future. This combo combines a monster from the Gladiator set and a monster from the Rebellion set.
Grimbardum Fighter + Marisol Contuma
While Grimbardum Fighter is not as overpowered as Grimbardum Smith (looks like this edition's Lord Arianthus) in combination with the Gladiator unit Marisol Contuma makes both cards an awesome combination. You have two units that can deal heavy melee damage, able to survive a few hits through decent health, armor, and survivability abilities and most importantly, attack from positions 1 and 2. This combo secured a good victory and it's an early contender for my favorite combination from the new Rebellion set.
Land 1.5 Plot Updates
We are edging closer and closer to completing the construction on the two Land plots. I have been having FOMO seeing the social media posts on X/Twitter about other players' Land plot productions, but I don't want to divert any funds from the Runi challenge to purchase Time Crystals to speed up the production. I can see why this "speed up production by purchasing gems" mechanism in mobile games is so popular.
Runi Fund
The splinterlands tokenomics has shown resiliency over the past week. In a week, where the crypto market has seen a correction after its mini crypto bull revival, the splinterlands tokens like DEC and SPS have remained relatively stable. DEC is hovering in and around its peg value of $0.994 per 1k DEC while SPS continues to hold support at $0.0313. Also, what is great to see in a visual graph is the SPS to DEC flywheel in effect, where players are burning SPS to get DEC and I recently discovered this graph on the fantastic splintercards.com site. We have seen almost 14m SPS burnt for DEC since the release of Land 1.5.
In the past week, we added another 2.5k DEC to the Runi fund which takes the fund total to $423.973. I was hoping that I would be completing this challenge before the end of the year, but it doesn't seem very likely.
Runi Market
The Runi NFTs floor has increased again with the cheapest Runi now at 0.35 ETH ($788.15). The floor of Runis has risen almost 50% since the Land 1.5 release, which is unfortunate for my challenge, but good for the splinterlands game. What I have forgotten (because of the previous crypto bull market) is that when BTC and ETH rise, this brings in more money and that spills over into many facets of the crypto sphere. It seems so simple, but when the price goes up, everything surrounding it seems to benefit.
For the second week running, the Runi sales activity for the past 7 days has broken past $11k in volume. The sales range fluctuated between 0.2802 ETH ($664.79) and 0.47 ETH ($1108.16). The hope of purchasing a Runi for $500 is starting to look like a dream instead of a reality with these prices.
