Have you thought about when last you read a book on personal finance? The personal finance category on Amazon or any bookstore has countless books on the topic. It’s almost as much as the self-help category, and I’ve been wondering which books stood the test of time for me? Here is a list of personal finance books that I think are essential for anyone to read.

The Total Funds Makeover (Dave Ramsey)

The Total Funds Makeover preaches the importance of working hard and paying what you owe to prevent debt. The best way to get wealthy is to stay out of debt no matter what and constantly pay cash. Simply because paying with credit is the road to debt, and every little step with credit is like sinking into a deeper hole.

Baby Bargains: Secrets to Saving 20% and 50% on Baby Furniture, Gear, Clothes, Toys, Maternity Wear, and Much, Significantly Much more! (Denise and Alan Fields)

This novel is targeted at couples expecting a new baby and hoping to get their finances geared up and ready for the new commitment headed their way. There are many things and requirements that go along with a new baby, and this novel helps you manage what is to come by helping you purchase essentials. The book sifts out the critical items from the items that aren’t that essential, such as incredibly pricey blankets or bottles, and thus assists you in not wasting money.

The Cash Class (Suze Orman)

This book discusses the American Dream of wanting to have home, family members, a job, and then eventual retirement that can all be met with security and a sense of financial freedom. In this book, she talks about how individuals must be truthful about their wants. She emphasizes the importance of confidence from working hard and knowing that we should take care of the present. This book will aid you in actually get sight of your dreams and figure out what you want to prioritize when working on your goals and will lead you to financial freedom.

Pick Another Checkout Lane, Honey: Save BIG Money & Make the Grocery Aisle Your Catwalk! (Joanie Demer and Heather Wheeler)

One of the more considerable expenses every month is your grocery bill. This book provides several guidelines and techniques (e.g., using coupons) to help you save money while grocery shopping. Plus, the book is written engagingly and humorously while teaching you to save money while grocery shopping.

As I mentioned above, there are so many books that I have read over the years that focus on the personal finance topic, but these are a select few books that will help anyone at different stages of their life. Which personal finance books would you recommend?
