Without a doubt, the year 2020 will go down in the history books as one of the most bizarre and weirdest years of all time. We all know what happened with the dreadful Corona Virus and we are still in the midst of its world-changing effects. The impact of this pandemic will surely ripple out to even the next century.
Moving on, let us take our minds off this current crisis for a bit, I believe that we all need a break from it actually, so these are some things published on the internet that happened back in 2020 that are seemingly out of the ordinary and are covered in a cloak of mystery.
Lost Star
I am somehow tempted to bring out my falsetto and sing a song from Adam Levine called Lost stars. I fell in love with that song when I heard it on the movie Begin Again. It was sad, it was colorful and it painted all my sorrows. Anyway, enough about the song and let's move on with the missing star that is more sinister than my singing voice recorded on phone. According to The Atlantic, a massive and bright star they were observing for years disappeared last year.
The star in question is of a bright blue color which indicates how hot it is and much brighter than our own sun, a couple million times brighter. It lies in a galaxy 75 million light years away from our galaxy, or it used to be. Last year, as they were updating their observation, they can't seem to find the star, they repeated the observation thinking that the Earth's atmosphere is to blame but still yielded the same result. NO more STAR.
When a star disappears, it usually is because it dies as in blew up into a massive supernova but this was not the case for the star in question. The star just vanished without any obvious indication of its death. If an explanation could be offered, I think this may be because it was swallowed whole by a blackhole. Whoa, scary.
Stolen COVID Samples
So back to the pandemic issue but this time it has a twist. I guess, human is not the only species affected by this pandemic, a cousin of the monkeys we know has stolen vials of covid viruses sample. Just hearing this one will make a brow raise with suspicions and disbelief, good thing a video of the incident has been captured and made it rounds across social media.
Well, who knows? If we can't come up with a cure to this particular strain, maybe another species on Earth could help us eradicate this disabling pandemonium.
A Little International Invasion
A country invaded another country surpasses an international incident. But I guess it's okay if it's just an accident. Last year, it has been reported by NPR.org that Poland briefly, and accidentally invaded Czech Republic's territory.
According to the statements released by officials involved in the little mishap, it was just a "minor misunderstanding" and it was swiftly cleared and resolved. Polish military were just deployed in the wrong place near the Czech-Polish border.
Hmmm. Interesting, I can't believe that in today's world of information over-sharing, there can still be incidents like this one and anybody could be an accidental conqueror. Nice.
Official UFO Videos
From time immemorial, we have been fascinated with extra terrestrial beings, UFO sightings, and crop circles. We have a lot of theories, stories and other tales about the other-worldly kind. But they remain just that, tales and stories because we have a shortage of concrete evidence. In this age of digital everything it's hard to believe that we are not able to capture good quality of these proofs. Or maybe the higher ups in our government are just covering up these details to avoid mass hysteria and panic.
On April 27, 2020 the Department of Defense of the United States of America authorized the release of three videos captured by the Navy which depicted "unidentified" flying objects. This is a big deal because the government itself is acknowledging the presence of flying objects within our atmosphere that no one could explain. Still believing that aliens aren't real?
High School Student Discovers a New Planet
What can you remember from high school? Have you had any accomplishments that is news worthy? I can't think of anything that can be remotely close to this one story.
Wolf Cukier is now known to be the one to discover the planet called TOI 1338 b. He just finished his junior Year at Scarsdale High School New York when he joined NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. This is were he conducted the observation of the universe and ultimately laid eyes upon this planet with intriguingly having two suns of its own.
I have no words for this, but WOW. Just Wow! All I can remember that I discovered in high school was hair can grow in different parts of the body aside from the head. LOL
Lime-green Colored Pup
Puppies are cute right? I mean they are like the very definition of cute, but imagine a new born pup with a color different from usual dog colors, and I am talking about a bright lime green color. Definitely looks a bit like a stuffed toy more than a real mammal.
This amazing and out of the ordinary birth of the pup happened in North Carolina, US. Although the German Shepherd was born with green fur, the color was not as permanent as initially thought. After several bathing the amusing color of the puppy faded and was soon gone.
The phenomenon was then explained to be a case of meconium which includes the earliest stool of the puppy. Hmm... the explanation wasn't that neat I guess. Wouldn't it be nice though? To take care of a pet with a different hue? I would love to have a blue dog and name her Blue. I wish that she will leave clues behind as we play too. :)
Author's Note
We can say that even being locked down into our own houses, 2020 has been a pretty eventful year. Although the events are not on the good side, there were still incidents that would rarely play out in the normal world situation.
Aside from the COVID pandemic, do you have any memorable or weird moments in the past year? Be a dear and share it on the comments below.
Hopefully, this year may be eventful with goodness and grace.
Cheers!!!
