Maintaining a radio A few days ago I dedicated myself to cleaning a radio that has been in my house for several years. This radio is my mother's, and she gave it to me because it was not useful to her because it was old technology and had certain defects; for example, the lack of clarity in the sound when tuning in to a station, and not showing the time on the digital screen.

Already having the time and the available tools I proceeded to work on the device, when I opened it. Before, the first thing I would like to highlight is the accumulation of grease in the case, and the second, the amount of dust and even cockroach eggs that were on the board (which groups all the integrated circuits).

Take the housing (the whole plastic cover) to wash it with soap and water powder in a separate place. Then, once that was done I left them to dry in the sun. And as for the plaque, clean it only with isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush; and for the most delicate areas, a brush.

Once finished, I returned everything to its place and put it to work. The tuning of the stations are heard perfectly - it is noticeable that the accumulation of dust affected the proper functioning of the equipment. And as for the digital screen, I couldn't get it to work... Well, actually I didn't do anything about it 😅 and on the other hand, the power button was damaged, since it came off inside and it touches to adhere it with glue, which I didn't have at the time.

In conclusion, if you are learning like me to learn how to repair and / or do maintenance to electronic equipment, you can start with old equipment and that no one uses anymore, so you are getting to understand how they work, and in case they don't keep working because of us we won't have any regrets 😁 **Source of the images** Images captured with my Amazon Fire 8 tablet.
