Cigarette (Tobacco) smoking and the use of illegal drugs.

Smoking is the leading cause of preventable death, and is estimated to kill more than 5 million persons each year worldwide according to World Health Organization (WHO). Tobacco use and exposure to second-hand smoke pose a major public health problem in the Philippines. Tobacco use is limited and strictly prohibited in terms of public places, packaging and labeling (advertising and promotion), sales restrictions (like 18 years old below), etc.

While the illegal drugs nowadays, cause many regretful accidents in our society. They are continually killing thousands of people each year, specifically 750,000 deaths worldwide per year according to WHO; Shattering families and bringing misery to them. Most common drugs used in thre Philippines: Methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu remains to be the most abused drug in the country, followed by marijuana or cannabis sativa and methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) or ecstasy.
