Wikileaks now accepts orders using bitcoin

WikiLeaks store has started accepting bitcoin payments via Lightning Network.

WikiLeaks well-known non-profit organization added bitcoin payments support using Lightning Network (LN) to its official store.

T-shirts, hat, masks and other items are sold in the store with a non-profit organization. The profits go to WikiLeaks funding.

In conversation with CoinDesk, a representative of the shop said LN support added to the request of some customers.

′′ We are trying to offer as many payments as possible with cryptocurrencies ", he emphasized.

A store representative added that customers most often buy items for Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum. The share of other altcoins in cryptocurrency orders is small.

WikiLeaks started accepting donations in bitcoins in 2011 amid blocking access to Visa and Mastercard payment services.

Currently use WikiLeaks Shop cryptocurrencies get 5% off.

According to 1 ml, Lightning Network works 13 075 nod and 37 631 payment channel. Network capacity is 996,53 BTC.
