Twitter's leadership has reported new details on the evil of the platform, resulting in multiple celebrity accounts, including Ilona Mask, Bill Gates and Jeff Bezosa.
The purpose of hackers was about 130 verified accounts. After accessing some of them, the intruders were able to send messages about fake bitcoin deals.
As of now, the platform management is working with the lords of compromised accounts, this process may take a few more days. The companies are trying to determine whether hackers were able to access non-public account data information.
At the time of investigation, Twitter blocked the possibility of downloading data from accounts. Compromised users can already send new messages after a short ban.
′′ We also take aggressive steps to protect our systems during the investigation. As before we assess possible long-term steps and provide more information on the way of the opportunity ", said in Twitter statement.
Shortly before that, the company said hackers could access celebrity accounts with a Twitter employee.
The head of the Binance Chanpen Zhao cryptocurrency exchange, who suffered from hacker s' actions, addressed subscribers on Instagram. He called ′′ privilege ′′ the fact that his account had been hacked earlier accounts by Ilona Mask, Bill Gates and other famous personalities.
After that, Zhao mentioned a few more times the fact that hackers rate his account above other celebrity accounts.
The Block analyst Larry Chemak criticized these tweets of Binance head, calling them ′′ shameful ". He added that Twitter would add a complaint option on such records so they wouldn't appear in user s' feeds.
