disease. When I was diagnosed, it was already too late to make amends. The doctor said what I had was End-Stage Renal Disease. It sounded scary and too final. Game over, so to speak. For me, it wasn't the end - it was the start of my new life. I carried on, changed my entire routine to incorporate my thrice-a-week treatment sessions. It's only dialysis or a kidney transplant that can save me and since a transplant costs millions here in the Philippines, I opted for lifetime dialysis. It's fine, us dialysis patients can still live a meaningful life even when we depend on a machine to keep us alive. I surround myself with positive people, people who help themselves to keep on - they are also warriors like me
